Millie hadn't slept well last night, so when she got up far earlier than she'd planned, she made a stop at JGoB to get pastries and coffee for the nurses. At least she'd found a way to start the day off well.
Millie was here, teaching the nurses how to play Spoons during their downtime. Of course, they were using tongue depressors instead of spoons, but the principle was the same. And tongue depressors were harder to pick up quickly, which made it more challenging.
Millie was here and happy to listen to the nurses gossip about their weekends and sex lives. Someday maybe she'd have a sex life to gossip about as well.
Millie hadn't slept well last night, so she was not feeling quite up to snuff tonight. She found a relatively comfy chair and mostly perched herself there while the nurses did their thing.
Millie was going to spend the day cleaning and straightening things up. Which didn't make the nurses terribly happy, until she brought them coffee and pastries to get them going.
Millie was busily organizing things in the clinic. Not that they particularly needed to be organized, but it was something to keep her busy. The nurses were making her a little crazy with their gossip today for some reason.
Millie was a little disappointed that little Adi hadn't come to see her this year. Maybe quite a bit disappointed. She made a note to check with Max just to, well... see if he was sad as well.
In the meantime she just made herself smile and nod as the nurses talked about what had gone on with the children.
Millie and the nurses were having a hard time keeping enough condoms out on the counter for anyone who wanted them. Of course, a large number were going to the nurses themselves who were enjoying making Millie blush as they retold stories of their sexual encounters this week.
Which was NOT to say that Millie hadn't grabbed a number of condoms herself in case she might run into Max or one of those very nice men from the Three Minute Dates.
Millie was at the clinic, listening to the nurses talk about the difficulties they were having getting in touch with loved ones over the causeway. She hadn't had any trouble contacting Christopher back home yet, but it still worried her.
Millie had been startled to come back from a trip home to see Christopher and find out about what had happened. The nurses were only too happy to fill her in and she felt horrible that she hadn't been around to assist.
Still, she was here today, busily restocking and organizing and was of course available to help anyone who might need her.
Millie was here, mostly listening to the nurses speculate about what might be going on and how odd the people in this new place were. Mercy was mostly wondering what some of the odd items were on a strange list were.
It may have been freeing cold outside, but Millie had her own little bubble of nicely warmed air that traveled with her. Definitely made the snow more pleasant. She'd also collected a variety of the knitted hats on her way in - just in case anyone needed an extra!
Anyone coming into the clinic would find it nice and toasty warm - and well supplied with hats.
Today was cleaning day, so things would be flying through the air - or hovering, depending on what Millie needed them to do - as everything got a good going over.
Millie found the island's new location to be a bit disturbing. And dark. And eerie.
Which would be why she'd magicked the clinic into looking bright and sunny and anyone looking out the window closest to her would see a scene of a bright cheerful meadow by a stream rather than what was really out there.
Millie was very happy with the Island's new location. It was hot and dry and, honestly, made her a little homesick for the temple. So if you heard her singing odd little songs in a strange language, that would be why.
The nurses were all a-flutter over the picture Millie brought in of Christopher Chant. He was quite handsome, of course, and it all made Millie feel a little second-home sick.
Millie was here bright and early with copies of some of the newest books for the nurses in the genres they preferred. The clinic will be very quiet today with only the sound of pages turning and the occasional passage read out loud.
Millie was rather pleased to have her clinic day switched to Tuesday. She spent the day organizing and cleaning out things that hadn't been gotten to in a while, so anyone coming in might see things flitting about in the air cleaning themselves.
Millie who had not spent all day and night at an out of town music rehearsal like her mun had arrived at work bright and early with gifts for the nurses of some of the new books that had come in. Why not? The clinic was usually very quiet on Saturdays.
Millie had to admit her mind wasn't really on her work today. She kept thinking about the Three Minute Dates tonight. Which meant, of course, that the nurses were enjoying gently teasing her to watch her blush.
Millie had absolutely been here all day. And all day every other Saturday regardless of whether the overstressed mun remembered to put her there!, just like today.
Of course, since she'd brought the nurses all the latest of their favorite books to read, it was pretty quiet.
Millie was still feeling unaccountably down today. It worried the nurses a bit as they didn't ever really remember her not being cheery. Which explains why they kept popping in to check on her wherever she was.
