Tommy came downstairs to find the statue of Alanna and Faithful right where it had been left.

He sighed, rolled his eyes, then got to making a chain of paper rings to hang off of it.

Maybe he was cutting up paper that the clinic actually needed, maybe not.

Susan had the clinic open around noon, and was doing a crossword puzzle, and hoping that the present she got for Lorelai's baby shower was appopriate. It just seemed very *her*, somehow.

Last night, distracted by her research, it had taken a few trips to the front desk for Natalie to notice Alanna and Faithful. That they were frozen, not moving, and not breathing was more than a little disconcerting. Eventually, she grabbed one of the portable screens and put it up. She didn't want to know where the paper chains came from. She had a pretty good idea already.
