The kind of healing Eli could do might be out of reach for her now, but Gabrielle was still perfectly capable of the more mundane kind -- she'd always liked doing things with her hands more, anyway.

She'd been reluctant to leave Fandom too soon, but with no classes to occupy her time she'd needed something to do. And considering how frequently she and Xena needed to patch each other up on the road, why not try and pick up a few new skills while she was at it? When she wasn't familiarizing herself with the place, she was behind the desk reading every medical magazine she could get her hands on, and hoping maybe some of this would eventually make sense.

When one of the nurses asked if the terminology was all Greek to her, she got a really strange look from Gabrielle.
