Chloe had quite a few regrets when it came to leaving Smallville, but right now, none of them compared to her inability to check on her friends. She'd been following the Portalocity and causeway issues via the radio, and she'd heard people talking about disappearances, but there was nothing she could do for her own universe without outing herself as alive and alerting people to her location. The thought of anything happening to Smallville, to Clark or Lois or Oliver made her sick, but at the same time, if she couldn't contact them, she could still try to pretend that maybe, somehow, her home was fine.

Of course, she'd spent enough time in Fandom to know that that probably wasn't true, and plying herself with coffee and a muffin wasn't making it any easier to try. Still, she had a whole day ahead of her, so maybe she'd feel more hopeful later.
