FTEC, Thursday (8/4)

Scully had awoken cranky, but determined. Time to get to the bottom of her transformation!

She stomped off into town, and shot at two teal deer who tried to stop her from going inside the clinic. She took a sample of their blood as they limped away. (And drank some of it, but not from the sample. You had to keep your materials separate to avoid contamination.)

The nurses were staying waaaay on the other side of the Clinic from her, as she worked on her tests.

"Thith ith ridiculuth," she muttered through her just-starting-to-emerge fangs, as she broke yet another beaker. Really, those things didn't grow on trees!

Then she was absorbed in Science again.

Has black eyes, scales, tiny fangs, and lengthening fingernails. She's cranky, hungry, and wants your blood... to test it. Of course.

Healing Warren wasn't working, and he was getting worse. She and Karla may have told him they wouldn't take him to the clinic, but that didn't mean Raven couldn't briefly slip off there herself. She knew Scully would be there Thursday, so early in the day she teleported directly to the clinic to see if her friend knew anything about what was going on.

"Hello, Dana," she said as she appeared in the clinic. "I hope I did not startle you. I wish to...." She broke off in shock as she saw how Scully looked now and took a step backward.

"Raven," Scully said, sounding cheerful. "No, I'm good. Doing experiments." She seemed oblivious to Raven's shock. "Look, I was just examining my blood. It's like my cells are dancing. I don't know if I'd call them gray or something else, though, to be honest."

Kind of like the sheen to those scales on her hands and neck, really.

"... Are you... quite all right?" Ronan asked, tentatively.

Hey, she looked like a mutated baseline human, but that didn't mean she wasn't just a subspecies or an alien or anything. It's not like he hadn't slept with met weirder when he was out in the greater galaxy.

"Hmmmm?" Scully looked up from her microscope absently. "My cells are doing a rhumba," she said calmly. "Look at this, tell me what you see."

What he'd see were blood cells writhing as they transformed, along with those that were already a weird gray-opal-unquantifiable color. Shimmering in a very unhealthy way.

"I'm Scully, by the way. Pleased to meet you." She rubbed at her hands and the scales absently. Itchy!

Sam was still dragging Toby along behind him when he pushed his way into the clinic. He'd been about to go ask for a doctor or a nurse or something when he caught sight of Scully and those words died.

"What in the hell?"

Sookie didn't know where else to go to help -- honestly, she figured she'd be most useful here. Libraries weren't her thing, and she certainly wasn't dumb enough to go outside and find something to zap, and especially now that she'd pretty solidly figured out it wasn't Bobby's virus he'd talked about, she wanted to try and help. If nothing else, they probably just needed an extra set of hands down in the clinic.

"Hey, Dana," she called, catching sight of a flash of red hair as she entered. "Do y'all need...." And then the rest of her sentence died on her lips as she saw what Dana really looked like today. Well, crap.

Yeah, small wonder that Sookie had gone speechless there.

After her failed attempt to heal the land and her meeting with Jack (complete with the necessary coffee intake to keep her going), Karla decided to visit the Clinic next to see if there was something else she could fail at try to help. So far, Warren's illness had resisted all of her attempts to Heal him, but maybe other people would respond better?

If nothing else, people were likely going to get hurt fighting or fleeing the nasties. The clinic could probably use a few extra hands with that.

"Kiss kiss," she called. "One Healer, reporting for duty."

Scully was at least trying to fight it now, aware something was wrong-- but she kept slipping back into her science obsession.

"Oh good. You can give me some blood too, and we should probably get a head-count of who's sick, and the rate of infection, and be sure we have the correct vector...." Scully said, then winced, and rubbed the base of her spine. "Hi?"

At some point, after cupcake class was over with, Stark made his way to the clinic to see if he might possibly be of some use there.

"I..." his voice trailed off briefly, then he started again. "I came to help. To offer to help, at least. Is there anything I can do?" It was strange to be back in the clinic after so long, but he was reasonably certain he still could find his way around. "I used to work here. Help here. When I was a student."

"We do seem to have people coming in. And we'll probably have more," Scully admitted. Almost as an afterthought, she added, "And if you see me go for someone's throat, feel free to sedate me."

So Ronan hadn't actually quite made it to the clinic yesterday -- too much wizardry in the park, fighting the... things... had him conking out at home. Today, however, despite having to cut a deer or two in half on his way in, he was well-rested and ready to heal anyone who needed it.

Yes, Scully, he's looking at you.

Karla wasn't a doctor, per say, or even a regular member of the clinic staff, but she had Healing Craft, herbal lore, and chirurgeon-training.

...Whether that would actually be useful was another story all together.

There was no way that Ryan could stay away, knowing that there were people who needed help. Even if she wasn't a doctor yet, she knew enough to help treat most cuts, bites and abrasions.

Stark's sanity was always somewhat questionable, but was certainly less gray. He was also idly wandering around the clinic, trying to re-familiarize himself with it.

He was ready to help, if he could.
