The Clinic - The Morning After

Wilson and House had been up the whole night, between hourly checks on Rory, Marty and Logan they had -laughably- tried to relieve each other for a few hours of sleep but each had been too keyed up to take advantage and after the first try had given up.

The oncologist had quietly worked on paperwork in between rounds, while House had played with his gameboy. For the moment, neither had brought up the subject of what had just happened with the other, it was just all too confusing and in the end, not important to delivering medical attention. In some ways, it was better that they didn't have the details, that would just confuse the focus.

As morning dawned, Wilson had taken advantage of a quick break to grab a shower and clean the blood off his skin and out of his hair. He'd come back and tagged House out, firmly suggesting that the older doctor needed to put some intense heat therapy on that bad leg of his...and also demanding -in a loving manner- that House make coffee.

When House headed off towards the little apartment, Wilson began to run rounds once more.

Sam showed up, bags of coffee and boxes of donuts from NPC Grocery in hand.

"Tell me how I can help."

Wilson had just finished with doing rounds when Samantha showed up and boy did she get warm smiles at the sign of donuts!

"Good morning, Sam." He called out in a tired but friendly tone. "Honestly? Fill him in on whatever details you've picked up from the radio or the gossip vine. I know he's curious but neither House nor I have had a chance to stop in long enough to give him the low down. I think it's..."

Wilson pondered the word he wanted and then, in a tone touched with a gentle understanding. "I think it's distressing him, not knowing."

Angela comes into the clinic still visibly shaken, and bearing two large bouquets. "Can I see Marty and Rory? Please?"

"Angela? Marty's here too?" Not having heard otherwise, Sam waved her on back. "Go. I think they may still be sleeping."

The Tick walked into the waiting room with Lockheed on his shoulder, a wooden figure in his hand, and a miserable look on his face. "Can I see Rory?" he asked simply.

Parker's looking tired but pulled together, and surprised to see Sam. "Carter. Hi. Are they letting people visit the wounded?"

"Parker. Hey, yeah, they're allowing visitors, but I'm not sure people are awake. Go back if you want."

She leaned forward and whispered, "What the flaming hell happened last night?"

In the early afternoon, Han bursts in with a semi-conscious John Sheppard over his shoulders.

Lana is with him keeping pressure on the wound and keeping Shep's arm elevated. The sleeve of her dress is ripped and ther's blood all over her.

Barbossa walked into the clinic staggering under the weight of a huge bouquet and a giant plate of cookies. "Be Logan 'n Rory awake at all?" he asked.

After leaving a bouquet from NPC Florsist for Rory, Angela steps into Marty's examination room.

He looks better than last night, if only marginally, and she really can't tell whether he's asleep or just resting.

She puts some gerbera daisies with a card reading To a true hero on his bedside table and sits in a chair near his bed, waiting for him to move. "Marty?" She whispers. "Can you hear me?"

Marty opens his eyes and gives Angela a warm smile.

"Hey you."

He tries to sit up only to wince and lay back down again. He still has a smile on his face though.

"Flowers? For Me? Aren't you sweet. Is everybody okay?"

Around 10 am, the sounds of the Pink Panther theme drifted up from Logan's jacket. His eyes shot open and he fumbled for the phone.

"Veronica? You okay?"

After talking to Logan, Rory fell asleep again, and stayed that way for the majority of the morning.

[ooc:...because her mun is going to see the Harry Potter movie, and won't be back until early evening. If you want to watch her sleep, leave her presents, what have you, feel free. I'll wake her up to visit tonight, though.]

Sometime around four in the afternoon, Rory wakes up.

She pulls herself into a sitting position as best she can, and glances around the clinic.

After about five minutes, she's very bored, and very in need of entertainment.

Logan rubbed his face with the heel of his good hand. "We'll see," he said. He leaned back on the pillow and watched the ceiling as Angela left the room.
