The Clinic - The Morning After

Wilson and House had been up the whole night, between hourly checks on Rory, Marty and Logan they had -laughably- tried to relieve each other for a few hours of sleep but each had been too keyed up to take advantage and after the first try had given up.

The oncologist had quietly worked on paperwork in between rounds, while House had played with his gameboy. For the moment, neither had brought up the subject of what had just happened with the other, it was just all too confusing and in the end, not important to delivering medical attention. In some ways, it was better that they didn't have the details, that would just confuse the focus.

As morning dawned, Wilson had taken advantage of a quick break to grab a shower and clean the blood off his skin and out of his hair. He'd come back and tagged House out, firmly suggesting that the older doctor needed to put some intense heat therapy on that bad leg of his...and also demanding -in a loving manner- that House make coffee.

When House headed off towards the little apartment, Wilson began to run rounds once more.

"Dr. House said I'll be here until Thanksgiving break, at least," Rory frowns. "I have no idea when I'll actually be mobile...since right now sitting up is kind of amazing. And chocolate is the best therapy," she adds, her eyes twinkling.

"Ouch, that long? Definitely going to bring you chocolate. It'd be inhumane no to." Cally nods, and squeezes Anders' hand back. "Anything else we can do?"

Rory frowns thoughtfully. "I don't think so. Do me a favor, though, and, um...if you hear anyone gossipping about it or whatever, just ignore them, okay? You guys are all cute and happy. You shouldn't worry about crap like this."

"Will do." Cally nods, and gives her best sympathetic smile. "We kinda seem to manage to miss most of that sort of stuff, anyways."

Anders blushes bright red at being called happy and cute. "We do kinda, don't we? How do we manage to do that, anyway?"

"Lucky, I guess?" She smiles, and kisses Anders on the cheek, because their PDA habit knows no bounds.

Rory smiles at them. "You are seriously so cute it's almost sick. Like if a bunny and puppy mated to make one super-cute being."

Anders thinks this statement over for a moment, and his face goes through a fascinating series of metamorphoses that correspond with the bizarre mental diagrams he's trying very hard not to draw.

"Um. Thanks, I think?"

"You're welcome," Rory beams. "It's a compliment."

"Thanks. I'd say we try," Cally shrugs "but I think it just sorta comes naturally."

"I can tell," Rory giggles weakly. "Wish I could say the same. Logan and I are pretty far behind on the cute. We're totally beating you in the emotional trauma department, though."

Cally laughs a little, before covering her mouth with her free hand. "You can totally keep that record. We won't try and and beat you guys in that department. I swear."

"Good. I can't promise we won't do our best to beat you at the cuteness, though," Rory grins.

Anders blushes again and buries his face in Cally's shoulder. "Great, another competition," he laughs. "We just had one of those with Allie and the other Logan."

"Pff," Rory says dismissively. "Other Logan and Allie. We can so beat them. Everyone knows I have the cuter Logan, anyway."

"You know... I don't think I've ever met your Logan, actually." Cally bites her lower lip, and scratches the back of her neck. "But I'm totally sure he must be cooler than other Logan. And cuter, too, absolutely, yes."

Anders looks at Cally and pokes his lower lip out just a bit, giving her the sad-eyes treatment. "Cuter than me?" he teases, hugging her.

"Nope. He can't be cuter than you. It's a physical impossibility." Cally leans in and up on her toes to rub noses with Anders. "Honest."

"Aw. Thanks, coach." Anders grins and wraps his arms around her, rubbing noses back and kissing her chin, before remembering that Rory's watching them.

"Erm. Sorry."

"Don't be!" Rory says indulgently. "But I have to say - this clinic? Not the most romantic setting. Speaking from experience. So, if you guys want to take off, I'll be fine."

"Heh, yeah, you're probably right." Cally bites her lower lip, and blushes a little. "You take care, alright? And we'll totally be back with some super secret smuggle chocolate soon, I swear."

"Thanks, guys," Rory grins. "Looking forward to it. Have a good night."

"Definitely the best therapy," agrees Anders, grinning. "Well, hey, if you want me to help you keep up in Classics or something until you're mobile again, well . . . I'll do my best, and maybe see if I can borrow someone else's notes for you, too. Mine aren't the greatest."

Rory grins. "That'd be great, Anders. I was kind of worried about school, since ~~I'm trying to get into Power Ranger school~~ grades are like...really important. To me, anyway."

"Well, I'll definitely see what I can do," Anders replies, grinning back. "I know the feeling, since I gotta keep my grades up to stay eligible for the Pyramid recruiting program and all. ~~And getting into Power Ranger school is a worthy goal. Powder blue would look good on you.~~ Totally let us know if there's anything we can do to help you keep up with your other classes, too."
