The Clinic - The Morning After

Wilson and House had been up the whole night, between hourly checks on Rory, Marty and Logan they had -laughably- tried to relieve each other for a few hours of sleep but each had been too keyed up to take advantage and after the first try had given up.

The oncologist had quietly worked on paperwork in between rounds, while House had played with his gameboy. For the moment, neither had brought up the subject of what had just happened with the other, it was just all too confusing and in the end, not important to delivering medical attention. In some ways, it was better that they didn't have the details, that would just confuse the focus.

As morning dawned, Wilson had taken advantage of a quick break to grab a shower and clean the blood off his skin and out of his hair. He'd come back and tagged House out, firmly suggesting that the older doctor needed to put some intense heat therapy on that bad leg of his...and also demanding -in a loving manner- that House make coffee.

When House headed off towards the little apartment, Wilson began to run rounds once more.

Marty slowly gets up. "Well... I deserved it a little. I was just being a jerk and I knew it. I'm glad you're okay now. I better get back to my room before Wilson decides to experiment on me with Gremlin spit."

"Well, I'm glad you're mobile, since I'm not. You and Logan can be my lackeys!" Rory says cheerfully.

Marty gives Rory a grin.

"Lackey? I'm lackey material? What does that entail? Coffee fetching? Grape peeling? Assorted bowing and genuflecting as I leave the room?"

"All of the above, except the coffee thing." Rory makes a pitiful face. "They're not letting me have coffee. Or chocolate."

After taking a midday break to nap and shower, Angela comes back down to the clinic, bearing burgers, fries and sodas for Rory, Marty and Logan. She hears two familiar voices from Rory's room and peeks her head around the door. "I come bearing food," she says. "Does that make me a lackey?"

"Oh, real food," Rory says gratefully. "You're awesome, Ange. And you're not a lackey. Unless you want to be." She arches a brow. "How is everyone around school reacting? Are people...y'know, talking?"

Parker comes in in time to hear this, carrying what is obviously Rory's overnight bag, since it wouldn't be hers.

"Some are. Some are just looking confused. I think we have Quinn Morgendorfer to thank for that. Hey, Angela. Marty, you look... a little better."

Angela passes over a greasy sack of food to Rory and also hands one to Marty on his way out the door. "I thought you guys might need it."

"About the school ... I dunno. Jaye Tyler left a message this morning, but I haven't heard from anyone else. I think a lot of them were at the Faire in town, and I skipped that. Wasn't in the mood."

"As if." Parker snorted, then brought out the French chocolate. "We're gracious visitors, you fiend. Be nice. Share." She popped a chocolate in her mouth.
