Okay, so yes, she’d heard radio (had been certain to listen to it, in fact) and knew already that Tyler-sensei had been to the clinic like she’d ordered him to be. This did not stop her from making her very first order of business when she got in checking up on the paperwork to make sure he really had been in and radio hadn’t been lying.

Smugly pleased that he’d listened to her (and, really, in Ino’s opinion, more people ought to listen to her) she settled down to read her medical textbooks and vaguely contemplate... stuff.

Yes. Stuff.

"Yeah? What are you reading?" he asked, moving to her side of the desk.

"Theory behind healing basic broken bones with chakra," she said, glancing down at her textbook. "I can't do it yet, I'm not that good, but the theory's interesting."

"You will," he said confidently, waving the cup of hot chocolate in front of her.

She made a grab for the hot chocolate, grinning at him. "Did you just compliment me for no reason?"

Ino was... just going to grin more, yes.

"I'm just saying it as I see it," he argued, letting her have the cup and the bag of pastries. "Maybe next week I should bring waffles."

"Still a complement," she insisted, beaming as she took both from him and peered into the bag before grabbing some kind of pastry that looked like it had strawberry in it. "Why waffles next week?"

"In case you're growing tired of pastries?" he suggested, wondering why he was half expecting some joke involving his name and strawberries to come up any second now.

"I'm good with whatever you decide," she told him cheerfully, nibbling on her pastry. "If you want waffles, then we can have waffles."

Mmm, waffles.

"I'll think about it," he allowed, leaning forward to steal the bag back. "How's your week been?"

Ino impishly inched the bag away from him. Just to be a brat.

"Okay," she said, with a shrug. "Nothing exciting beyond class assigning us to spend 48 hours with the groups we'd been assigned. You?"

"Ew. Anyone smelly?" he asked, because it was a valid question or something.

"Jaina and Eve?" she said, giggling. "So, no--not smelly."

"That luck then," he agreed, leaning a little further to try snagging the bag again. "Imagine having to hang out with someone smelly for 48 hours."

"Doesn't have to be all in a row," she clarified. "But, ugh, yeah. I would be seriously unhappy."

"Oh," he frowned. "Seems like in a row would be more interesting."

"If by interesting you mean 'likely to induce fighting' then yes," Ino said, grinning a bit at him.

"Fighting is healthy," he said simply, opening the bag and considering which one he should pick.

"No," he frowned, it seems silly to like fighting. "It's just better than keeping everything bottled up." He paused, thinking of Renji, Katchoo and Ganju. "Unless they're idiots and then it's just fun to annoy the crap out of them."

He grinned and dropped the bag on the desk after he picked out a muffin. "It is fun to annoy you," he teased.
