Okay, so yes, she’d heard radio (had been certain to listen to it, in fact) and knew already that Tyler-sensei had been to the clinic like she’d ordered him to be. This did not stop her from making her very first order of business when she got in checking up on the paperwork to make sure he really had been in and radio hadn’t been lying.

Smugly pleased that he’d listened to her (and, really, in Ino’s opinion, more people ought to listen to her) she settled down to read her medical textbooks and vaguely contemplate... stuff.

"S'okay," he lightly touched her hair. "We have to build a pumpkin thrower for physics and now we've got to write a paper for literature." He still hadn't decided on a topic.

"A pumpkin thrower?" she asked, humming slightly. "And do you know what you're writing about yet?"

"No, I'm hoping inspiration is going to strike any minute now..." He looked around as if it might jump him out of nowhere. "So far it hasn't."

She giggled a bit. "Any rules on what you can and can't write 'bout?"

"No, we got a whole list of suggestions but..." He shrugged. "I think there's too much to pick from."

"Hmmm."

Ino considered that.

"Could do it on ninjas," he suggested as he played with the hem of her shirt.

"My kind of ninja, or this world's kind of ninja?" she asked curiously.

"Huh. Um... Your kind?" he was asking that, yes.

Ino laughed softly. "If you want to."

"I don't know! Does the library even have books?" he asked and wow, was he feeling stupid now.

"On my world?" she asked. "I haven't any idea."

"Maybe I should just do it on some war or other," he contemplated. "Since when are classes here going to be like real classes?"

"Mine aren't," she said cheerily. "We made gunpowder in class on Friday."

He eyed her. "You don't need to be more dangerous. Did you tell your teacher that?"

"Nope!" she preened. "As if I'd tell him that."

"Which class?" he asked curiously.

"Chemistry," she said, frowning a bit. "I think that's what it's called this semester anyway. It's a lot like bomb class too, which he also taught a while ago, so."

"Tyler?" he asked, not sure on all the teachers. "He was cool."

"Yes," she beamed. "Tyler-sensei. He rocks even if I had to threaten him to get him to go to the clinic yesterday 'cause he was hurt and being stupid about it."

Ichigo frowned. "Did he? How did he get hurt?"

"He went!" Ino chirped. "I checked the logs this morning."

Because Ino was persistent that way.

"And something 'bout a helicopter crash. Or something."

"Wow... I don't think that happened on the island?" he frowned. "Or am I turning deaf?"

Ino paused. "I don't think I asked that? Probably not though. People'd notice that."

He nodded and tugged on her shirt. "So um..."
