FTEC -- Saturday [April 11]

Prom last night had been fun (and she still had two more to go to!), and so, Ino was in a totally brilliant mood even with having to head to work. Besides, work was mostly her studying while keeping an eye on the front desk. That was totally doable.

She curled up in the chair, humming to herself, and settling in for another ordinary day spent studying medicine.

Totally ordinary day, yeah. So she thought.

"She definitely is," Ino said, awwwwing mentally. "And what do you want to be, do you know yet Masaru? We've got two ninja, and an awesome big sister."

"He likes being loud," Ken offered, though the question wasn't directed at him.

Isae giggled.

Masaru elbowed Ken. "A race car pilot!" he said defiantly. It'd been a fire fighter when he'd woken up.

"You've got time to decide," Ichigo offered, somehow guessing the indecision and it was tempting to ask exactly what he was doing.

"I don't know yet either," Isae said, a bit wistfully.

"You'll be awesome," Ino said, nodding. "No matter what. You too, Masaru, though race car driving sounds... exciting."

Ino wasn't entirely sure what it entailed, but...

"It probably is," Ichigo said. "I don't know what I want to be yet either," he reassured them.

"Otousan makes people better," Masaki was wriggling in Ino's lap and holding out her arms for Ichigo to pick her up.

"Yeah?" Ino said, smiling at the kids. "Maybe he ought to take my job here then, he'll need the practice."

Of course, Ichigo taking Masaki meant that Ino had to wriggle to grab Masaru and cuddle him.

"Okaasan's a ninja!" Isae declared. "And she's one of the bestest ever!"

This opinion was probably clouded by the fact that it was her mom she was talking about.

Masaru made a face at the hugging, but somehow his protests lasted very shortly before he cuddled back against Ino. "Yah huh! And Okaasan beat up the bad guys trying to steal Otousan's car."

Ichigo wasn't really hearing half of what was being said as he somehow had a girl with blonde hair in his arms who seemed very intent on hugging him. "That's good," he said absently.

"Of course I would," she said, kissing Masaru and grinning at Isae. "I wouldn't let someone take anything from us without a fight."

"Because winning fights is what good ninja do," Ken added, taking a seat next to Ino. "That and coming home."

"Winning is what awesome people do," Isae insisted. "Don't got to be a ninja!"

"Exactly," Ichigo felt the need to agree, not being a ninja and everything. "But coming home is important too."

"My name means victory!" Masaru said instantly, thinking this by definition meant that he was awesome too.

"Totally awesome too," she said, with another ruffle of his hair and a hug. "And yes, coming home is more important than anything else."

"Okaasan," Isae said, sounding a bit plaintive. "I'm hungry."

"Me toooooooooo!" Masaki said instantly from where she was snuggled against Ichigo's shoulder.

Ichigo for an instant couldn't remember what he'd done with the breakfast he'd gotten Ino and him. He hadn't even registered putting it down on the desk. "Good thing I brought food then," he said as he picked up the bag before taking a sit on Ino's other side.

Her lips twitched. "Good thing," Ino agreed. "You hungry too, Masaru? Isae, help your father."

"Yes, Okaasan," Isae said, bouncing over to his side.

"Are there cups around?" Ken asked, looking. "I can get the water."

Yeah, Ichigo was for a moment surprised at how easily Ino was delegating and how the kids were actually listening. He held up the back and smiled at Isae. "You can open it and hand them out," he leaned forward and whispered. "Just keep your favourite one for yourself."
