FTEC -- Saturday [April 11]

Prom last night had been fun (and she still had two more to go to!), and so, Ino was in a totally brilliant mood even with having to head to work. Besides, work was mostly her studying while keeping an eye on the front desk. That was totally doable.

She curled up in the chair, humming to herself, and settling in for another ordinary day spent studying medicine.

Totally ordinary day, yeah. So she thought.

"Me tooooooo!" Masaki repeated.

It helped that she was naturally bossy, and had done this last year. With an entirely different set of kids.

"No ice cream until later," she said, ruffling Masaru's hair. "You know that." She bet he did. "And no teaching your sister bad habits."

"Cups, Okaasan?" Ken asked again.

"Sorry, sweetie," she said, smiling at him. "They're right over in that drawer there," she pointed, "second drawer, right at the top."

As Ken went to get the plastic cups that the clinic kept around, Isae giggled and found napkins for everyone before neatly dividing breakfast up.

"We can have hot chocolate first," Ichigo told Ken as he juggled Masaki so he could lean forward and reach for the cups.

"Ice cream isn't a bad habit," Masaru mumbled under his breath to no one in particular.

"It is if you don't eat properly otherwise," Ino informed him, with a grin. "So ice cream later."

"Here, Otousan," Ken said, offering the cups to him and hopping into his seat again.

"So if we eat now we can get ice cream later?" Masaru bargained?

"Can we, pleassssssssse?" Masaki was apparently very impressionable.

Ichigo was quickly learning one thing about parenting: let Ino handle the whining.

"Thanks, Ken," he said as he carefully poured them all some hot chocolate. It was a good thing american sizes were what they are.

That's because he had the backbone of a wet noodle when it came to dealing with orders.

"Later," she said firmly, while she made sure that none of them were going to spill anything yet. "If you're good. And yes, that means eating now."

"Thank you, Otousan," Isae said, as she took her hot chocolate, and her food. Mmmm. "Can we go to the park later? Or the beach!"

"It's too cold for the beach yet," Ken said, "Unless you're only walking around."

He doubted two of them would much just walk around.

"Walking around is boooring," one of said two commented before he stuffed his mouth with muffin.

"Park then," Ichigo suggested, holding out the cup for Masaki.

"Park!" Isae said brightly. "And Okaasan can tell us 'bout the flowers we find!"

"And the grass is nicer than the sand," Ken added, grinning a bit at Masaki.

"I see what you did there," Ino said dryly to Ken. "Not bad. And yes, honey, I'll tell about any flower you bring me."

"I like grass too," Masaki said, she had her hand wrapped around Ichigo's hand so he was forced to hold on to the cup as she drank.

Masaru sighed, but didn't talk until he had finished chewing and then he was wriggling on Ino's lap to get to his cup. "Can we play a game?"

Isae glanced up from her nibbling. "What kind of game?"

"Outside," Ken said. "We're not supposed to play in a clinic."

"That's a good point," Ino said, playing with Masaru's hair and making sure he was able to reach the cup. "Did you have anything in mind, silly?"
