One of the nurses comes out. "You're Lana, right? Kiki's sleeping now, but when I told her you were here, she insisted I let you know she's doing a little better. It was good you got her here when you did; her fever was very high, and she says to tell you thank you very much for staying with her all night. She also," the nurse adds with a small smile, "recommends that you get some sleep and that you take better care of yourself than she did of herself."
Allie's sitting up, coloring in the book Dr. Grissom brought her last night. She slept all night without pain meds and is ready to get out of the clinic and rest in her own bed.
[ooc: alanna can you spring her today? on slow play b/c of work, but it's time for her to go!]
"Pretty good," Allie said. "I haven't needed the pain meds for the last twenty four hours. I'm still kind of itchy, but Dr. Troy gave me a cream yesterday that helped with that."
[*shrug* dunno. wanted to clear the bed before tonight, just in case.]
Alanna skimmed through Allie's chart and then took the girl's hand in her own. She concentrated for a moment and a faint purple glow appeare where their hands touched.
"A faster way to get a diagnose then attempting to decode the good doctors' handwriting." Alanna dropped Allie's hand. "And you'll be happy to hear that you're free to go."
Not quite awake, nor either entirely asleep, Kiki lay still and limp on the bed, her flushed face and the rasping of her lungs with each breath an indicator of how ill she was. Her chart indicated that she had been admitted with a temperature of 101.5 and that it had now crept up past 102; there was the notation Acute lower resp. inf./pneu., along with a jumbled set of abbreviations for medications and doses.
There was someone there, Kiki could tell dimly - but not her mother. Didn't stop her from trying, though. "Mom?"
[ooc: Sure, go ahead :) I'm going to be away for the weekend starting this afternoon, though, so I wanted to make sure that Kiki was stuck somewhere with a good reason for not helping rescue Phoebe. At some point, I'll have Kiki's mother come to see her (contacting Kiki's parents can be totally handwaved; I'll post the visit either Sunday night or Monday), as I need the visit to set up future plottyness. Feel free to mod Kiki's fever all weekend, hee!]
The touch was cool and calming, and rapidly Kiki began to feel marginally better. Her temperature slowly inched lower, and her breath rasped less in her throat and chest.

She managed a half-smile for the nurse and left the clinic quietly.
