Oh hey, look, it was a desk! And a chair, which Ino flopped down in, and then leaned back and rolled her eyes at herself.

Hon-est-ly. What was she getting moody about? The fact that her ethics were different, and that people were going to keep treating that like it was bad? “Ugh,” Ino informed the ceiling. “No way.” Because, ew, she wasn’t going to change.

So, she was there, and determinedly cheerful about it.

"So you just think they're two different things," he reasoned.

"No," she said, a bit waspishly, "True Love being the forever and ever sort of love, we agree on. But him saying that it doesn't matter that he got drunk and got married to someone else because Dojima-san is still his true love is just..."

"How could you even think of marrying someone else if you've found your true love!" she erupted. "That's not true love at all!"

"He screwed up," Ichigo agreed, because that much was true. "Being drunk can do that to you. Apparently..."

"If being drunk makes you decide to betray your true love," Ino muttered rebelliously, "it's not much of a true love."

"Yeah, but... I mean, I don't disagree, but that's not really something you can decide for someone else. Is it?" he said tentatively, feeling like he was skating on thin ice for some reason.

She shrugged irritably.

"I thought better of him, it's not what he'd said before. Turns out he's just a poser," Ino said, fiddling with her hot chocolate. "Because, I don't know, but getting married is supposed to be permanent. You know, you do it if you love some one--forever and ever."

"Not 'cause you were drunk and pissed off at your girlfriend."

"Yeah, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't think that's a good reason either," he said, frowning.

"I don't understand how his thought process even worked," she said petulantly. "Who gets drunk and has marriage on their mind like that?"

Suggesting that Romeo did was probably not the right answer and Ichigo lightly tugged her hair. "Dojima's your friend too?"

"Yes," she said, snuggling against him. "Though, if we were measuring, I'd have said that Romeo was a closer one."

"So are you insulted in her stead or for yourself?" he asked, tangling his fingers in her hair.

She made a little noise and closed her eyes. "Both, I think."

"He's probably already feeling stupid," Ichigo suggested.

"I don't forgive very easily," she said, sighing. "He's not who I thought he was."

"I'm shocked," he teased her lightly, his thumb tracing the soft skin behind her ear. "Is he sorry?"

"He says he is."

Ino contemplated that. "But you can't know, you know, if he'd do something like that again."

"No," Ichigo agreed, "but unless he's cheating on you, however he sees... that, it won't change how he's your friend."

"He's my friend still," Ino admitted. "But I trust him less, and that makes me angry. I want to trust him, but I can't now."

It wasn't entirely making sense to him, but at least he was trying to grasp it. "Cause you think he'll cheat on you? ... As a friend." Trying.

"Because he didn't keep his word," she said, trying to find words. "And he did it for nothing but that he was mad, and went drinking. He didn't do it for a mission, or for something that would save someone's life, or for anything important. Just... because he was mad, and didn't want to deal with the fight face-to-face."

"Okay," Ichigo said quietly, getting where she was going now. He made a point of keeping his word for a reason. "Tell him he's an idiot." Because that solved everything.

"Told him that already," she said, smiling slightly at that. "Don't think it helped. I mean, I get it if it was for a mission, or something super important, or..."

She shrugged.

"But not 'just because'."

Huh. He watched her for a moment before he asked, "You'd do it if it was a mission?"

It was questions like that that made her realize just how little she thought the way she was 'supposed' to.

"Of course I would," Ino said. "That's my job, doing missions however it happens."

His eyebrows knitted together. "So ninjas aren't supposed to ask why either?"
