FTEC – Saturday [December 13]

Ino had a million and one things she could be working on while at the clinic. She was, for the most part though, just staring at the entrance with deliberate thoughtfulness. And trying not to sigh. She didn’t need loads more things to have to consider and fret about right now.

If anyone asked, she was practicing her mental walls.

He eyed her. "I guess that's a start."

"Better than nothing," she huffed, and poked at her pancakes.

He sighed. "Mine are cold," he complained.

"Mine too," she admitted, flushing a bit because it was her fault. "Should we try mircowaving them?"

"Sure," he said easily, reaching for her pancakes. "I'll do it. Where is the microwave?"

"Down the hall, in the room marked 'staff lounge'," she said, smiling. "Just watch out for gossipy nurses."

"Gossiping nurses I can handle," he commented. Now naked nurses was something else.

"Be strong!" she chirped. "And I'll... wait here, I guess."

Because Ino was lazy. Yup.

"Uh huh. Don't exhaust yourself," he remarked before he disappeared.

He wasn't gone too long and he wasn't covered in lipstick, so he had survived running into the nurses. "I think I just gave them enough gossiping fuel to last them through the month," he commented.

Ino glanced up and giggled. "What did you tell them?"

"Told them I had to heat this up quickly or you'd beat me up again," he dead panned, placing the plates back down on the counter.

She contemplated that, reaching for her pancakes.

"...seriously?"

"Well no," he plopped down in his chair, "but it was tempting."

"I feel like I should kick you for that, or something," Ino said, leaning over to kiss him quickly.

Huh. Kissing was good and he was going to take advantage of it before she kiss kick him. "So why don't you?" he asked after a moment.

"Because then my pancakes would get cold again." With a bite of pancake to prove her point.

Ichigo snorted. "Deservedly so then in that case," he said instantly.

"Nuh huh," Ino said loftily. "Because you so would've deserved it for gossiping."

"It wouldn't be gossip if I'm manipulating the gossipers," he argued.
