FTEC - Saturday, evening shift [21.06]

Igor was very disturbed. And a little bit surprised that he was making his way to the clinic instead of abandoning island for somewhere safer. Igors always left once the danger arrived.

But he hadn't.

Never mind. He didn't lisp or do much else like a proper Igor should, either. He just hoped this latest rebellion didn't get him killed. There was no one here to collect his body parts and pass them on.

Igor was busily moving through the clinic, making sure all was in order and setting up his own equipment.

On her way out after her shift, Adah was filled with a horrible imbalance between being reluctant to leave the premises of the clinic and feeling a terrible urgency to just get back to the familiarity of her room. If there was anywhere she wouldn't mind being trapped or waiting things out, it was here, but she felt the need to find out if a certain Eel was safe or if he'd gone and done something stupid, as well as make sure she was there to make sure he didn't do something else stupid in coming here to check on her. The apprehension had her voice quieter than usual.

"I"m not staying long," she said to the lump. "I think the sooner I get back, the better, but, I have to ask before I leave: any notable progress?"

Igor was very glad to see she was safe. "Yes. It's coming along well. But the ghosts seem to like the warehouse, so," his smile was twisted, "it's on hiatus."

"Good to hear," Adah said, with a short nod, and then she lightly shook her head. "Those ghosts. I've spent all day trying to figure them out, and why their effects seem to differ between people. According to the report, the boy in the coma had an encounter with one, but I did as well, and, despite feeling shaken, I feel relatively fine..."

Alec showed up after his encounter (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2890921.html?thread=124072873#t124072873) in town, holding his arm up around head height. He seemed to have been unfortunate enough to get liberally bled on, but didn't seem all that concerned as he walked up to the desk. "Anyone here?"

"Oh my." Igor came out from checking on Lucas and spotted Alec. "Are you missing anything?" he asked, beckoning him to follow into the Exam Room (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/493914.html?thread=10203226#t10203226).

The rooms where people are examined.

Igor made sure the boy was comfortable, and resisted the temptation to try some alternative methods of bringing him back to consciousness.

Lucas probably would appreciate Igor's not giving in to temptation if he had any clue what was going on around him. It was one of those problems with being in a coma.

He was having some pretty kickass dreams about girls weeping by his bedside which was always nice.

"Sit down and let me look at the damage," Igor told him, pulling out an assortment of needles, threads, and bandages.

Sitting, Alec shrugged and lowered his arm a little to show the... man who looked like several people lost a fight with a woodchipper and all the leftover parts sewn up to make one guy. "Just lost some blood," he said, nonchalant.

"Mmmm." Igor studied Alec's arm. "Quite a lot from the looks of it. I can stitch that up, quick as can be, or just wrap it up. Stitching would be better," he added. "But first we have to get it clean."

He nodded, watching the man a little warily. "I'd kind of prefer you didn't stitch it," he said, despite the fact that they were fairly deep-ish clawmarks and on anyone else would be at least a bit serious. "Clean would be good though."

Igor looked vaguely disappointed. "Wrapping it is, then!" He fetched a basin, filled it with water and a drop of something very green, then carried it over to start cleaning Alec's arm. For such a grotesque looking person, he had an extremely deft and delicate touch. "And which of our many visitors did this?"

Surprised, Alec relaxed a little bit as Igor worked. "A manticore. Never seen one in person before."

"I can't say I've heard of one of those." He studied the wounds again, making an estimate of size based on the claw marks it left (Igors were good with wounds). "This is the only damage it did?"

Alec shrugged again. "Before I got it back? Yeah, that's it," he confirmed. "They're just monsters."

"Tell me," Igor said as he set the basin aside, reaching for a glass jar of something yellow, which he went to smear around the gouges in Alec's arm. "Have you any plans for your body? After you no longer need it, of course."

Alec stared at him, taking the cleaning of his open wound in stride, but not so much the question Igor had posed him. "What? Like... When I die? Not so much, considering I won't be using it anymore."

"Igors are always in need of a part or two, to use on people who've lost theirs," he explained cheerfully as he reached for the bandages to start wrapping Alec's arm. "Yours seem to be of exceptional quality. It would be a shame to waste them if you have no plans for them."

"Uh." He frowned, looking more bemused as the urge to preen countered the sense of being rather disturbed. "Hey, I don't plan on dying anytime soon, you know."

Igor was being very gentle as he wound the bandage around Alec's arm, and he looked shocked as he said, "Of course not! But long term planning is very important. And it never hurts to ask."

I should be around!
