FTEC - Tuesday Evening Shift 5/22

Wilson had spent a nice, relaxing day corrupting ducks and otherwise enjoying the summer sun.

Thus he was a bit surprised to find that the clinic had a patient in residence when he arrived at work that night. Frowning a little as he recognized Chad's name, Wilson went over the young man's chart with the on duty nurse and gave her instructions to keep him apprised of Chad's comfort through the night.

Then, he settled down at the front desk and set up his laptop to work on his latest journal article.

Bel shimmered into the clinic lobby, his arms around the bleeding bodies of Phoebe and Anders. His own chest and back were covered with blood, too, but it was hard to tell if it was his or theirs. "Help!" he said desperately to Wilson.

Wilson did a classic double take and bolted up from his seat.

"What happened?" He said sharply, calling back for the nurse as he moved readily towards Bel, reaching for whichever body the young demon would release to him.

"Hockey fan from hell," Phoebe murmured, slumping against Cole as her eyes closed again.

Anders was barely conscious and couldn't keep his eyes open from the pain, but he swayed a little bit toward Wilson and mumbled, "'s Phoebe 'kay?"

It was going to be a long night for Wilson.

Jim didn't look anything more than angry. Angry, and carrying an unconscious and bleeding-from-the-temple Lana.

Wilson had at least ditched his bloodied shirt for a set of scrubs by this point, though they looked a bit stupid overtop of his khakis but who was really paying attention.

Frowning darkly as yet another one of his young friends was brought in injured tonight, Wilson moved forward quickly but didn't try to take Lana from Jim.

He liked his arms attached to his shoulders.

And Teddy's still there, being spazzy. But less so now that he hadn't really slept since... Sunday night.

That might explain him nodding off in the chair next to Chad's bed.

Bel half-carried, half-dragged Anders into the exam room and helped him up on the table. He was used to blood, but not this much pouring out of the body of someone he cared about.

Anders leaned against him, his eyes mostly shut. "Where's Phoebe?" he asked thickly, panic seeping through the stupor.

While the nurse tended to stripping the remainder of Phoebe's clothes, Wilson came back through the door to exam two. He was in the midst of ditching his bloodied dress shirt and ducking into fresh scrubs.

"Alright, gentlemen, who wants to give me the quick and dirty version of what happened?"

He asked it as much to distract Bel as for any real need to know, his hands already reaching for Anders to check him out.

Bel shook his head. "Some guy in the woods. I don't think he was a demon but he looked pretty messed up. He just suddenly jumped us while we were . . . stargazing. Had a machete or something. How's Phoebe?"

Shouldering the door open, Wilson carried Phoebe quickly over to the table and after a quick diagnostic glance, he set her gently down on her stomach.

"Nurse! Get her prepped for exam and pack those wounds, we need to slow the blood loss."

The nurse nodded smartly and moved towards Phoebe, speaking soothingly to her as she began to cut away what remained of Phoebe's shirt.

Reaching for his own now blood soaked shirt, Wilson leaned down and smiled calmly to Phoebe.

"I'll be right back, Phoebe. I'm just going to go check on Anders and Bel."

Phoebe felt herself being carried, but she wasn't exactly sure where she was. Pain that seemed to be everywhere at once and blood loss was wreaking havoc with her senses. "He stabbed Cole right through the chest," she murmured. "Hurt him and Anders..." She was starting to shake. "Hurt them bad."

The nurse spoke soothingly to Phoebe as she stripped away the slashed garments and helped get Phoebe settled more comfortably on the bed.

There was a quick shout back and forth with Wilson and Phoebe might have felt the gentle prick of a needle as an IV was started with fluids and pain medication. Somehow, the nurse managed this while at the same time putting pressure bandages on Phoebe's back and shoulder.

"Dr. Wilson will be right back in, dear. Try to relax."

Jim nodded shortly and followed the doctor to the exam room, his jaw clenched.

"Put her up on the table, Jim." Wilson said in a calm voice as he reached for a pair of rubber gloves, giving Jim as much chance as possible to keep in touch with Lana before he had to ask the young man to step back.

"Can you tell me how she hit her head?"

What the bloody hell is going on here?!?

"We were jumped by some psycho in a hockey mask," Jim said tightly, but the anger tensing his shoulders didn't translate to the gentleness with which he set her down. "I tried to tell her to get away, but . . ." He swallowed. "She fell and hit her head on a rock."
