Clinic? Open. Doctor? In.

Dr. Keyworth envisions a very tense, very unhappy flight home. But does not mention this, as he's only a therapist, not a teenager, and therefore doesn't know anything.

"You think it is bad?"

"It is your decision," he nodded, "but I'm thinking the plane ride there and back may be a bit strained. I will assume you will be as tactful as possible," he continued.

"I was thinking more as honest as possible..."

"There is honesty, and there is tactful honesty. Informing someone that you have driven over their prized rosebushes is honest, informing someone that you have driven over their prized rosebushes to avoid driving into a baby carriage supplies a bit more information and helps to blunt the response."

"I... do not think i have the leisure to have such a useful reason..."

"Not to set it up as an elaborate production, but 'I got so drunk on candies with alcoholic filling that I kissed a girl' sounds slightly better than 'I kissed a girl'. I do not, however, know the full details of your relationship, and do not know how well any of this will be received. Just don't rush it. And if you need to, contact me if it goes badly. And have your boyfriend contact me if you think it will help."

"Somehow i do not think telling my boyfriend he needs to see a shrink is a good idea..."

"While helpful, the message is never received well from anyone," he said with a small grin. "I do wish you luck on your trip. And you should examine your feelings. Have you kissed many people?"

"Two."

He leaned forward. "Two is hardly a large enough sample to figure out what you want, statistically speaking. For some people, that's all they need to find the frog that will become their prince. Others never do. If this was the first dissimilar person after a string of similar people, it could be counted as a phase or moving in a new direction; this, however, sounds like you have no direction, no compass to guide you. Which is not a bad thing," he said to reassure her before she could object. "Take it slow, be honest with yourself and all involved, and be prepared to have a bit of hurt if things do not proceed completely happily."

"...yes..."

"I wish I could say more to guide you, but all I can do here is point out the path and point to the signs. I'm afraid I don't know enough about all involved to suggest a best course of action."

He leaned back. "What are your thoughts?"

"I... am not sure. I think the important thing is not to loose a friend."

"That is the key," he said, staring at a photograph on his desk. "All relationships require work." He lays the photo frame down.

"Yes... you are right." Ami glances curiously at a photo.

The photo stays face-down. "Are you willing to put in the work?"

"Of course!"

"Then, I say give it your best effort."

He paused. "Is there anything else for this week?"

Ami shook her head, ready to get the heck out of there.

"I shall see you next week. Call me if you need to."

Ami nodded, and left.

Stanley wrote up his session notes and prepared for his next appointment.
