"I have to examine you first," said Janet, reaching for her stethoscope. "Then I can determine the extent of your injuries. I'm afraid I couldn't say how you came by them, though."
"...k" Ami mumbled. Her lips felt very dry and speaking was difficult.
[ooc: dehydration, several days with no food, bruises, caked blood on head covering the eye. the eye is undamaged just dry blood all over. there are thin precise incision lines all over the torso]
Janet started examining Ami, first with blood pressure and heart rate, and then a thorough exam. "You're dehydrated, for one, and that's the first thing we'll need to treat. I'm going to start you on a saline drip."
"Try to move as little as possible," said Janet softly as she hooked up the IV bag. "I can give you some ice cubes, but no water. You'll feel better as soon as the IV fluids get into you."
"It seems like your eyes is undamaged, so I'm going to try to clean the blood off it," said Janet. "You've got some bruises too, and then we're going to have to dress and bandage the wounds on your torso."
"... what?" Wounds, what? How? Ami's thoughts were a jumble. As Janet did things Ami got flashes of lights in her mind's eye and scalpels, glistening. //"NO!"// she screamed and tried to struggle. Not that she had much energy to struggle with.
"Ami, Ami, shh," said Janet, soothingly. She reached out, trying to hold Ami down firmly, but as gently as possible, so she didn't tear the IV out of her hand. "You're in the clinic, you're at Fandom. You're safe."
Ami whimpered but quieted down, fear in her eyes. "No knives." she whispered and was suddenly terrified of the fact that she was terrified of a doctor.
"No knives," said Janet softly. "I promise. No one's going to use any knives here. All I want to do is make sure you get better. We're going to need to keep you here overnight."
"...k" She was getting repetitive, but thinking was a bit hard. Looking around, she spotted Setsuna still around this whole time and reached out for her hand.
Ami sucked on an ice chip. "maybe?" she said. She really had no idea. Every time she closed her eyes she saw scalpels. "Knives in the dark..." she added.
Ami slowly sipped the water which felt really really good. "Won't help" she mumbled "in my head" She knew she was only imagining the knives were there. It is just that they were there every time she closed her eyes.
"You need to see a therapist about posttraumatic stress disorder," said Janet. "But for tonight, you can focus on getting well. I'll bring in some magazines for you to flip through as a distraction, if you'd like."
Re: Exam One
moddedSetsuna brought Ami over to the exam having explained to Janet her lack of knowledge as to what happened.Ami was mostly awake. And mostly coherent. And mostly in English.
"What happened?" she asked trying to lick her lips.
