"Why don't you put out a request for some of the community to come and help decorate?" he suggested, still eyeing the cast with some concern as he handed Rosette her cocoa. "I'm sure there are people who'd be very happy to help, and it might be fun. Make a bit of a party out of it."

Head tilted slightly to the side, Rosette beamed at Aziraphale as he handed her the cocoa. "Y'know, you're really bloody brilliant at this sort of thing. That's a great idea."

Aziraphale glowed at the praise, and sat down in the chair. "Well, I've hosted a few parties and such myself. Really, James and I would be having our own decorating party, but..."

He frowned a little. "I've been given an assignment, and I'm afraid I'll be away for a bit. So I suppose we'll have to pass on any holiday gatherings this year."

"Awww..." The news was definately enough to make Rosette wilt a little over her cup of cocoa. "That's such terrible timing! What sort of assignment, if I can ask?" She looked at him over the rim of the cup as she took a sip.

"I'm...not certain," he replied. "All I was told was when to go, and that things were still too in flux to give me more information."

Aziraphale shrugged a little, smiling ruefully. "When they send you, you go. And you don't question the orders. I have hopes that it won't be very long, though. I really don't want to miss spending the holidays with James and my friends."

Rosette's lip curled a little. "I would have questioned 'em. If they're gonna take you away from Christmas, it's the least they could do to at least tell you something..."

"I'm afraid that's not the way they usually work things. But I did at least get a promise that they'd look in on James while I'm away."

He smiled again, and then waved his hand to dismiss the topic. Really, it wasn't right to depress someone who was sitting in a clinic bed recovering from an experience like the one Rosette had been through.

"If you have snacks, I can almost guarantee that you'll get people to show up," he suggested.

"Huh?" Rosette wasn't really expecting a shift in conversation, and was confused for a moment, thinking Aziraphale was talking about having snacks on assignments, and that didn't really make a lot of sense, although it was a very good idea. She blinked at him a few times before it clicked.

"Oh! Right! Snacks. Of course. Only problem with them is that I tend....errrr..." She looked over at the other chairs in the room, where Chrono was still sleeping. "Is that Chrono tends to eat them all before people even'll get there!"

Hey, he was asleep. What he didn't know, couldn't hurt him.

Aziraphale would have been confused himself by that kind of shift in conversation. But he was known to occasionally be a practitioner of the 'do as I say not as I do' school of thought.

Suppressing a little smile, he glanced at Chrono and nodded solemnly. "You could call it a potluck, and have your volunteers bring something to share. Or make a bit extra. For Chrono, of course."

"Ooooh, potluck," Rosette chuckled. "Your ideas keep getting even better. And, yeah, you wouldn't believe the appitite on 'im. Can't imagine where he puts it all."

Aziraphale chuckled, and cast another glance at the sleeping demon.

"Why thank you, my dear. Although I really don't do anything but steal ideas from other people. However, if there's anything I can do to help before next Tuesday, I do hope you'll let me know."

"Before next Tuesday?" Rosette took a moment to see if anything immediately came to mind. Nothing did, so she just bobbed her head in a nod. "No problem."

Smiling, Aziraphale stood and said, "Then I think I'd best be off, so you can get some rest. Do be careful with that arm, and don't overwork yourself, my dear."

"Oh, I will, and I won't," Rosette said, smiling broadly, feeling terrible about lying to an angel. But she wanted to get back to her escape plans so she could get the heck out of this clinic bed.
