Granny set up her cauldron on the desk and started brewing up a potion to treat the Mauve Plague*. It was always best to be prepared.

Once the cauldron was safely bubbling, she went to check on the patients.




*A distant and much more serious cousin of the Black Plague.

"To be honest, I don't have a clue," he shrugged uncommittedly. "All this fairy and possession and the cold iron and chains and what-not is all foreign to me. All the mystical stuff is out of my league. I just did whatever I was told works."

Walter now knew more about fairies, or at least one particular fairy, than he had ever wanted to know. "Whoever he is, I'm glad he was here to help. I owe him, and you, a big favor."

"Don't worry about it," Alphonse said with a wave of his hand. "Don't think I wouldn't have tried to help, vampire or not. Just don't do it again, alright?" He attempted a smile.

Walter didn't have it in him to joke about what had happened. At least not yet.

"Is there any good news? Another invasion of weetiny bunnies? Or Cuddles has started to speak English?"

"I'm afraid Cuddles is going to grow up to be a relatively normal cat." He paused for a moment, then added, "Then again, we are in Fandom."

"Okay." Walter closed his eyes for a long moment - just resting them, really - then opened them with a start. "Where's Mr. Blackadder?" Oh man, he was going to have to clean up the mess they'd made of the man's home.

"Ah, I think I saw him in the lobby last night whenever Seras and I helped you in," he said. "I wasn't paying much attention, so I don't know where he went off to."

"Okay." Walter closed his eyes again, for longer this time. Just resting them, honest. "Have you seen Pippi yet? They told me she would recover..."

"I talked to her last night," Alphonse replied. "She's awake and I think she'll recover fine. Though..." he fidgeted uncomfortably from where he stood. "She seems afraid of her strength now."

"The last I saw was Molly chasing after her. Looking at Pippi, I'd imagine they got at eachother pretty seriously. Molly also had the spike, and I think she used it..." Alphonse really didn't want to imagine Pippi being stabbed with such a thing. He'd probably would've been more hesitant about reconstructing the statue into a spike if it weren't for the major lack of choice and time.

"Used it?" Walter had told one of his closest friends to shoot him, he certainly wouldn't fault Molly for using cold iron agaist Adella.

"Stabbed her." he clarified. "Alfred suggested the idea of a spike instead of chains. He said they'd be too difficult to use in a battle situation."

"Molly did it? Good for her." Which came out in a way other than Walter meant it, but hopefully Al would get the gist.

"Yeah." Alphonse nodded slightly. "I guess we had to do everything we didn't want to."

"That happens." Boy, does it. "Can you do me a favor? He didn't take my phone when we left Friday morning. When you get some time, could you drop it by the clinic? I have some calls to make."

"Thanks." This time Walter caught himself before he rested his eyes for too long. "I need some sleep."

Alphonse wasn't sure if Walter had heard his last comment, but he wasn't going to disturb him to find out if he did. He turned around and left the room.
