The nurses were fighting. It wasn't every day they had a patient to take care of. A male patient. A hot male patient. So unsuprisingly, there were several arguments about who got to check on said patient, take his vitals, change his bandages, fluff his . . . pillows.

"Demons lie a lot," Sam replied quietly. "You know those three years were awful. Dad and I alone together? Come on."

"I don't know," Dean said, shaking his head. "I wasn't there. Kinda the point."

"But you've heard me talk about them enough times to know," Sam said. "It was horrible not having you around."

"So I'm not stifling you?" It was probably an unfair question but Dean needed the answer.

"Not at all," Sam replied easily. "That's the last thing I'd ever think about you."

"What's the first thing?"

"That you're my brother, and I'd do anything for you," Sam said. Not that he'd been thinking about that a lot since yesterday.
