FTEC, Wednesday, Evening Shift [Jan 16]

Ronan frowned at the fact that there were patients in the clinic, frowned a little more at the fact that they were in comas -- but there didn't seem to be anything he could do, so he simply tried to make sure that they were at least comfortable, as much as he could, and moved back out to the front desk.

But, really, it was so much more noticeable since he was usually talking non-stop. It was in the user name! It had to hold true!

Aly returned from helping Fraser and sat back down, still almost glaring at Wade as she tried to see something that would help.

Arashi sat on the other side of the bed, still holding Wade's hand from the moment they let him in there. He glanced at Aly with a smirk. "Is that going to make him wake up faster?"

"Could be," Aly said, eyes refocusing on Arashi. "The power of my displeasure is strong."

"We'll see," she made a face, looking back at Wade. "I feel like there's a connection I can't quite see. Not that it'll probably help, but grr."

Wade's back arched up suddenly, mouth opening as he sucked in a deep breath. Like he had been drowning before and only just reaching the surface.

His eyes opened wide, falling back and just breathing. "What--?"

"WADE!" Arashi jumped up and held tightly to Wade's hand. "Thank god you're awake!"

Not wanting to intrude on Arashi's relief, Aly sat back, her hands relaxing in her lap, quietly relieved and far too pleased at Wade's movement.

And that would be Ronan, knocking softly on the door as he came in to check up on the other patient. "Looks like we have good news all around," he said, smiling. "How're you feeling?"

Look who was quiet. Very very quiet.

The glow over his left eye had dimmed almost entirely and some outgrowth of metal was slowly but surely creeping up the side of Cable's face.

Ino was still there. Fancy that. Her mood had, unsurprisingly, gotten worse. Whether this was from sleep-deprivation or worry (because, seriously, metal growing on your face was not a good sign) who could tell. Most likely it was a combination of both.

It was probably the lack of sleep that made her think her current idea was a good one though. Because it totally lacked subtlety and was so totally an excuse to yell at him at the top of her lungs. But, hey, maybe it would work?

She drew in her concentration, and her chakra, then very simply attacked with her mind. Ino could feel a headache starting up, but hey, headaches weren’t hard to deal with. And? Yelling? Was so totally therapeutic. She’d be fine.

Suddenly and without any sense of warning, Cable's eyes shot open, seeing nothing. The glare on his eye picked up and a strand of metal uncurled from his face, wobbling.

That blue energy intensified again, his breathing picked up--

Okay, maybe the headache was going to be a pain to deal with, but she'd totally done something, right? That was a good thing!

Ino blinked, rubbing her temples, and glanced over at Cable. Ooookay. The metal? Moving now. That was really creepy. "Can you just wake up already?"

Cable's back moved up on the bed, propelling him upwards slightly, and something akin to focus reappeared in his eyes as the metal recoiled further, retreating back towards his body.

Ino scrambled up off her chair, darting over to... well, hover beside him, "Cable-san?!"

It was the searing pain in his left side-- familiar pain, thought long-gone by now but-- cycles-- that snapped his mind back into place. Cable let go of a breath of pain as he crashed back onto the bed, blue shimmering oddly around him.

She was careful not to touch the blue... whatever it was... but still stayed as close as possible to the bed. "Cable-san!" Pause. "You'd better not think of going unconscious again." She'd... she'd... hurt him if he did.

But Cable's eyes were fixed on the ceiling, his mouth opened slightly as he attempted to breathe to compensate for the pain--

Something in his arm curled up again. He squinted his eyes shut and gritted his teeth.

If Ino had been the wringing her hands sort that's what she'd be doing right now. As it was though, she merely took a step back and watched anxiously. All the while wondering if there was anything she could do to help.

Maybe a heating pad?
