FTEC - Monday Day Shift 8/27

Heading into the clinic that morning, Wilson realized he was going to have to talk to Christain about giving up the Monday shift now that school was starting up.

Talking quietly with the on duty nurse, he was a bit surprised to learn that Anakin had been discharged the day before and made a mental note to maybe check in on him during office hours or something later.

For now, he took his latte and headed into the exam rooms to help the nurse clean and restock.

~~Is that what they call it these days?~~ "Thanks," Christian said, and headed down the hall to the exam room.

~~At least mine wasn't a possessed underaged female!~~

Wilson was standing at the counter, carefully sifting through the drugs kept in the room, checking for expiration dates.

~~. . . touché!~~

"Thanks for showing up for your shift today," Christian said sarcastically, leaning against the door frame.

Wilson was not known for responding well to sarcasm and he was a little bit surprised at it coming from Troy.

"I apologize for missing my Wednesday shift last week. However, I was here for both the Monday shift and Saturday, which was when we actually had patients."

"But that's not the only shift you've missed in the past few months," Christian pointed out. "The nurses keep me informed. Anything going on I should know about?"

Err...hmm.

Wincing a little, Wilson marked down the date of the bottle he'd been looking at and placed it back on the shelf.

"You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"Try me," Christian said. Knowing what he did about Wilson and his boyfriend, he figured it was S&M related injuries or something.

Leaning back against the counter, Wilson crossed his arms and wrinkled his nose.

"Well, back at the end of spring, my boyfriend and I took a third into our relationship. His name is Lucifer ... the Lucifer. So, at one point this summer, I was dead, stitched into a lantern of souls and resurrected by Lucifer and then recently I had to go to the Middle East on a pilgrimage, spirit walk to confront the old voiceless gods and make them stop granting wishes."

Shifting a little, Wilson pulled up his shirt and tugged down the waistband of his pants, showing off the sigil that had been burn tattooed into his skin.

"See? When your lover the devil says 'hop to we've got work to do' you don't say no and you don't always have time to leave a note."

Strangely enough, the one time Wilson had had an S&M session ... he'd made it in to work!

Oookaaay.

"I've been called the devil himself myself," Christian said. "And I've had women tattoo my name on their asses. But I've never let that get in the way of my job." Well, not often.

"Well, I'm sorry Christian but being dead kinda trumps ... everything. I can ask for a note if you'd like?"

"A note. From Satan." Christian stared at Wilson. "You're not kidding, are you?"

Wilson simply shook his head, never taking his eyes off Christian's face so that the other doctor could see that he was as serious as a heart attack about this.

"I'm an atheist," Christian pointed out, as if that would somehow refute Wilson's claim.

"In a manner of speaking, so's he." Wilson said thoughtfully. "He's not particularly obedient to the Father's will or grand design plans."

"Satan's just something man dreamed up because they can't face up to their own bullshit," Christian said. No, not going into denial at all.

"Satan as a Biblical boogyman, yes. The Lightbringer is something a bit different from that, sort of like Christian Troy is different from Dr. Troy." Wilson explained.

"Listen, don't believe me? Head down to the Devil's Nest some night for a drink, heck tell him it's on me and see for yourself."

"I might just take you up on that," Christian said. "I've been meaning to check the place out." He'd seen a lot of weird shit while in Fandom, but the devil walking around town wasn't something he was inclined to believe.

"Just try to give a little more notice when you're going to miss a shift, okay?" Christian said.

Wilson nodded with understanding.

"Fair enough and I really am sorry for the unannounced absences over the past few months."

"So how are things otherwise?" Christian said, all too happy to shift the topic from Wilson and his gay sadomasochistic threesomes from hell. "I see we had a bunch of patients Saturday night?"

Now now! Be fair! Only one member of the threesome was from Hell, the other was still instated up in Heaven.

...

Yeah, Wilson's love life was complex.

"Adults this time, thank HIM. There was an uprising against the bitch who took over the school while Zoe Washburn was out on maternity leave. Things got a little rough when Umbridge was informed her pressence was no longer needed at Fandom High."

Try having the sister of a crazed serial killer who attacked you try to seduce you and your girlfriend.

"There are no lingering patients so it looks like you did a good job patching them up," Christian noted. "I heard something about the new principal, but I don't pay much attention to the radio."

"I think the really serious wound did some patching on his own, but thank you." Wilson said with an easy smile.

"She was a nightmare. Torturing students, attacking faculty and staff, you're probably better off for not having crossed her path. She turned out to be completely batshit insane."

"All women are batshit insane," Christian said. Well, at least the ones he'd been involved with.

"I have a little sister who would kick my ass if I dared agree with that," Wilson said smiling, because HIMSELF knew that Wilson's third ex wife fell into the batshit nuts category.

"I think both sexes have the capability to be batshit insane."

"Women moreso than men," Christian said. "They're just wired for it."
