FTEC - Saturday Evening Shift 4/14

Wilson was impressed by the display going up in the park and took some time to investigate it before heading down to take over the clinic for the evening.

He expected that with it being prom night things should be fairly quiet...or maybe extremely busy, one never knew with Fandom, did one?

Settling in behind the desk after a brief chat with the on duty nurse, Wilson flipped open his laptop with all the intention in the world of working. Strangely enough what he ended up doing was surfing more...adult movie titles, to see if he could find any other educational material for the angel.

Last night, had been waaaaayyyy too much fun.

Don't look at the computer monitor, it might hurt your eyes.

Later in the evening, Lana slipped away from the prom, bringing Jim with her. She ducked her head a little when she saw the doctor, knowing he'd be disappointed in her. "Hi, Dr. Wilson."

How fast can we half close the monitor full of...uh...adult images.

"Oh! Good evening, Lana, Jim. What brings you two young people down here tonight?"

"She needs to get her stitches out," Jim said, then realised that Lana could speak for herself perfectly well and he should just back off and let her handle it.

Lana smiled lovingly at Jim, then looked back at Dr. Wilson. "We snuck away from the prom. The bandage doesn't exactly go with the dress," she said with a small smile.

"Ahh prom. All right then kids, let's get those stitches out post haste so you guys can get back to the fun."

Locking down his computer, Wilson stood up and waved them towards the back of the clinic.

"Exam Two (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/313444.html?thread=8025188#t8025188) is open at the moment, let's go back there."

"Excuse me doctor," Steerpike said once he'd made his way out of the exam room. "I think I'll be leaving, now."

Wilson quickly tugged the monitor down before poor Steerpike got an eyefull and he turned to look at the young man with a critical, clinical eye.

"Well...looks like you're definitely ambulatory. Let me check your file and see if there are any specific instructions."

"Thank you, doctor. You've all been very kind."

Pulling Steerpike's file, Wilson scanned through it and as he didn't ~~I'm assuming?~~ find any notes about keeping the young man for a particular period of time, he began the check out process.

"Okay, I have a write up here on how you should care for your injuries, what signs to look for in regards to complications. If you find yourself suffering from any of these listed, please come back in immediately."

"I will, of course, sir. Thank you."

Steerpike was a free man.

Please wait for the patient to ping in first please.

Steerpike had had enough of this clinic nonsense. He rather thought it was time for him to leave and go back to his room.

Empty for now.

Lana held Jim's hand as they went in the room, smiling at him as he helped her up onto the table.

Heading for the counter, Wilson washed his hands, pulled on a set of gloves and grabbed a sterile pack of insturments.

"I don't imagine this will take too long," he promised as he came back to the table, pulled up a stool and sat down, hands out for Lana's bandaged hand.

"You two looks the perfect pair tonight. Are you looking forward to prom?"

Lana glanced over at Jim. "It's been fun so far, I guess," she said quietly.

"Excellent," Wilson said with a smile to both of them and then he set in to working on Lana's hand.

Years of hanging around with House had given Wilson his old friend's habit of diagnosing people almost unconsciously and Lana's weight loss as well as the bruises she'd tried to cover with make up did not go unnoticed but since Jim seemed relaxed, Wilson decided not to make an immediate issue of these details.

It seemed more important to let the kids have thier prom night.

"I appreciate this Dr. Wilson," she said. "I really wanted to get these stitches out. They were just getting itchy, you know?"

After he pulled the last stitch, Wilson gently turned Lana's hand this way and that, studying the area.

"It looks like it's healing well. Keep it clean and be careful with it for another week. If it starts to hurt or you notice increased redness or soreness, come back in to see us, all right?"

Lana winced a little as he moved it, but smiled at him. "I can do that. I'm sure it will be fine. And I promise I'll be more careful with my tea mugs."

"That sounds like a good plan," Wilson agreed with a grin.

"All right, off with you two, go and enjoy your evening."

"We will," she said, taking Jim's hand and smiling up at him. He helped her down from the table and she couldn't resist stealing a quick kiss, blushing and ducking her head a little when she looked back at Dr. Wilson.
