FTEC, Sunday Morning, March 18

Doogie was in the clinic again, working on some files up at the front desk while he waited for old patients to wake up and new ones to come in.

Setsuna entered the clinic a little sheepishly, since she hadn't been here to see Ami for a while, not nearly as much as she should have, even if she was still in a coma, and seemed to make up for it by bringing in new flowers for Ami. She looked a little put off for a moment at the youth that seemed to be serving as doctor today, but knew better than to focus too much on something like that around here. "Hello," she bowed her head slightly. "I was wondering if I might visit Ami today. Any progress?"

"Sure, you can go on back and see her. She's awake now," Doogie said.

Ami woke up slowly. Over the somewhat restless night she had realized that the Moon Kingdom had been a dream. No matter how realistic it seemed, no matter how much she remembered, it was a dream, and she was in the Fandom Clinic. At least unlike yesterday, she could speak. And look around.

And realize that billy had left a birthday card on the nightstand. This meant that she had missed her birthday, and god only knew how many classes.

Doogie peeked his head in, and smiled when he saw that Ami was awake. "Good morning," he said. "Are you feeling better than you did yesterday?"

Ami's voice was still a bit raspy. "Yes. What day is it?" This was an all-important question.

"Today's Sunday," he said. "It's March 18th."

Ami did mental calculations. "Oh. Two weeks? //Damn.//"

"Yeah, you've been out for a while. But I don't think you missed anything really exciting," he said, trying to sound reassuring. He took some notes on how her vital signs looked, and smiled again. "And the important thing is that you're doing much better now."

"What... happened?" The last thing Ami remembered was being on the alien ship.

"Well, I wasn't here when you were brought in, but you've been in a coma," Doogie explained. "We've been keeping you as comfortable as possible, to get you to wake up."

"Sometimes, when a person goes through something that's really physically traumatic, their body will kind of shut down so that it can heal itself. That could be what happened here," Doogie offered.

"Oh... that would make sense... So, um, you are a doctor?" Ami wasn't too surprised to see a very very young doctor.

After assumingly hearing the good news from the doctor about Ami's condition, Setsuna certainly didn't waste any time getting to her room, but she entered it slowly, contrasting her hurried approach. She opened the door just enough to poke her ponytailed head in.

"Ami-chan?" she asked quietly. If she was sleeping, she didn't want to disturb her any.

Ami turned her head slightly at the sound of the door opening. She was hoping it was Billy, but expecting the doctor. When she saw that it was Setsuna an almost subconscious smile spread across her face. //"Setsuna-chan!"//

//"I...I'm not disturbing you at all, am I, Ami-chan?"// Setsuna asked quietly, still not moving from the crack in the door she'd created. She didn't want to bother her if she needed or wanted to rest.

"Oh," Setsuna said quietly, ducking her head with a blush as she shifted into the room. She closed the door quietly behind her, and didn't move forward much, though she did hold out her small offering. //"I've brought you some flowers. I've been trying to keep them fresh and nice for you while you were out, just in case you woke up, and then you'd have something nice to look at."//

Ami glanced at the things on her nightstand, flowers and the note and card from Billy.

Setsuna smiled lightly, her head bobbing in a nod, and she went to place her flowers with the others before taking a seat beside the bed.
