Liz had, had a restless nights sleep. The images of what had happened to her had started coming back. She was frightened of losing control with her powers as the images returned and so after being only able to get a couple of hours sleep she opted for staying awake. So she lay there in bed, trying not to think about what had happened to her.

John woke up, after some particularly bad dreams involving midgets and fake Vietnamese. "Man. I hate this place," he said as he stared at the unfamiliar ceiling.

Lana was feeling much better, but still a bit weak. She was feeling much better knowing that Jim was coming home, though.

Wilson had ~~handwavily~~ told Aziraphale about Lana being in the clinic, and so on Thursday morning he slipped in quietly to see her. Setting a thermos of tea and a pretty flowering plant (http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/80/71/6h/www.ftd.com/pics/products/P917_c.jpg) on the bedside table, he smiled at her.

"How are you feeling?" he asked quietly.

"Mr. Phale!" Lana said, brightening. "I'm better, just weak."

Her face clouded. "And a little scared because nobody knows what happened."

Sitting down for a moment, Aziraphale frowned. "Do you know how you got here to the clinic?"

"Neil, Neil brought me," she said. "I... one moment I was in my room Sunday, after the memorial for Bel and then there was this light and..."

She started to shake. "And I was somewhere else and they did things to me for a week. Pain and no food and I was so scared and I can't remember anything clearly and then I was back in my room. I think I blacked out and when I woke up I made myself crawl to the door because I knew no one would find me in my room and Neil..." She stopped, clutching tightly at the sheet and feeling her heart racing.

"Mr Perry?" Aziraphale asked. "I'll have to give him my thanks for looking after you."

He pondered what Lana had to say for a moment. "You say that you were...that your captors held you for a week? But the Memorial was only a few days ago. So they must have taken you someplace else. Are you...are you injured?"

Lana couldn't help the shiver that ran down her spine. "I'm dehydrated and bruised and all. Dr. Troy said there was some strange drug in my system when I came in and there are these strange... cuts all over. And well, with no food, I lost a lot more weight." She ducked her head looking a little embarrassed.

Since Aziraphale didn't know much about medicine, or how one was supposed to treat dehydration and lack of food, he comforted himself with the knowledge that the clinic staff were very competent and knew what to do for Lana.

"Were there any, er...any indications of who might have done this? Do you know if anyone else was involved?"

While he spoke, he opened up the thermos and poured out a cup of tea, holding it out for Lana to take.

"I don't know," Lana said, with an edge of tension in her voice. "I have nightmares about it, but it's like everything is just out of reach."

"The best thing is for you to rest now, then," Aziraphale replied soothingly, setting the cup of tea where Lana could reach it. "The memories will come back, or they won't, but worrying at them won't help."

His voice took on a sadness. "Believe me, my dear, I know this for a fact."

Lana took the tea and sipped from it gratefully. "I'm trying to just rest. I get scared, though, for no reason. Just... randomly, like I'm afraid something will show up and get me. And Jim... Jim's in Japan. He's trying to get back."

"When you get out of the clinic, if Mr Ellison isn't back and you need a place to stay where you'll feel safe, James and I have a guest room. And you know that nothing can harm you under our roof."

Aziraphale reached out and very gingerly touched Lana's hand, not certain how she might feel about being touched at the moment.

[ooc: Sorry, went for a nap, virus is kicking my ass today.]

Lana's eyes filled. "Really? You'd do that for me? Thank you." She held onto his hand tightly. "I think I might really like that."

She hesitated. "Except I have nightmares. Really bad ones. I wouldn't want to disturb you."

"Of course we would," he assured her, squeezing her hand. "Don't you worry about the nightmares. James used to have them, so I'm used to it. And I don't think that's a good enough reason to deny a friend the comfort of your hospitality."

Lana could feel the tears threatening to fall; she always seemed on the verge of tears these days. "Thank you," she said. "So much."

Leaning forward, Aziraphale kissed her cheek, then pulled her blanket up more snugly.

"You're quite welcome, my dear, and you know that's always true. For now, though, you need to rest up, and let the doctors take care of you. If there's anything you need, you know how to get in touch with us."

Lana smiled at him and nodded. "Thank you. I will." She could feel her eyes starting to flutter closed already, her body just shutting itself down in its efforts to heal. "Think maybe I'll just take a little nap..."

"That's a very good idea," Aziraphale replied softly. Leaving the tea and the plant, he quietly slipped out to let Lana get her rest.
