Christian opened up the clinic in the morning and was surprised to find patients. What the hell were these kids getting into now? He checked on them and made sure they were resting comfortably, then settled in the lobby with a ~~pr0n~~ magazine.

Lana whimpered when he touched her, but did her best to remain still and let him examine her.

Neil stood quietly in the doorway, feeling pretty damn awkward actually.

"She seemed, really kinda light, at first at least." He admitted a bit ruefully.

"She's suffering from severe dehydration," Christian said, setting up an IV. "I'm going to start her on fluids." He took note of the bruises and said, "She's got some bruising, but nothing seems to be broken. You said you just found her like this?"

"Yes, sir." Neil seemed to remember his manners now that he wasn't about to drop both himself and Lana.

"She was halfway out in the hall, like she'd been trying to find help but couldn't make it."

"When did you last see her?" Christian asked. "She looks like she hasn't eaten in a week. Cafeteria food can't be that bad."

"Been gone a week," Lana said. "No food. And..."

She trailed off looking confused. "Can't remember."

"I'm afraid I don't know, Sir." Neil said promptly, though he squirmed a little.

"I have a class with her on Mondays and I saw her last week but I wouldn't normally bump in to her in a casual setting unless by accident."

Neil very diplomatically stayed away from all remarks about cafeteria food.

Christian frowned. "She's disoriented, and I don't see any signs of head trauma," he said. "I'm going to do a tox screen of her blood. Someone may have drugged her."

When Lana saw the needle for drawing blood it triggered... something and she panicked. "No," she screamed. "Please, no, no, not again! Don't hurt me again!"

Neil dithered in the doorway. It was instinct to want to go and help but he didn't want to get in the way of the medical staff as they worked.

"Err...kinda sounds like maybe she was?" He said, perhaps unnecessarilly.

"What the hell?" Christian said. "Help me, hold her down," he told Neil.

When he'd finished drawing the blood, he gave Lana a sedative to calm her down. "That should help her rest," he said. "We'll keep putting fluids into her as well, and make her eat."

When Dr. Troy asked for the help, Neil moved quickly to the head of the table to help hold Lana down, talking to her in a voice he tried to keep calm and reassuring, explaining that Dr. Troy wasn't going to hurt her and that she was safe and it was okay.

At least, that's what he hopped he babbled about.

Lana fought against them weakly until the sedative began to take effect. "Please, no. Don't hurt me anymore, please."

She clutched at the edge of the sheet they covered her with as she felt herself going under again. "Want Jim," she murmurmed plaintively as her eyes fluttered closed and she was out.

"She'll be okay," Christian assured Neil, then asked, "Who's Jim?"

Straightening up, with a small wince as annoyed muscles tugged and pulled, Neil set his hands on his hips and looked a bit perplexed.

"I think that's the name of her boyfriend?"

Christian nodded. "If you find him, send him down to the clinic," he said. "I think we're going to have to keep her here for a while for observation, and to make sure she's strong enough."
