Christian opened up the clinic in the morning and was surprised to find patients. What the hell were these kids getting into now? He checked on them and made sure they were resting comfortably, then settled in the lobby with a ~~pr0n~~ magazine.

Ami was here in the morning, recovering. The IV had done wonders and Janet had fixed up all her cuts and scrapes. She is planing on leaving to go back to her dorm today, provided she can walk. She hadn't tried yet.

During the morning, Christian stopped in to check on the patient. "How are you doing?" he asked.

"Better. I am awake, I am coherent i think, and i hurt a lot less." She smiled at the doctor.

"That's good," Christian said, flipping through the notes Janet had made the night before. "Any idea what happened to you?"

"No, i was hoping someone could tell me? All i remember is going up on the roof to get some air before break started, and then being in a lot of pain here in the clinic." She said a little sadly. "Did i hit my head, is that why i can't remember?" she had read previously that head trauma caused loss of memory.

"I don't know," Christian said. "All your chart says is that you were brought in last night, no explanation about how you got in this condition."

"I don't like not knowing." Ami shook her head. "do any of my injuries suggest memory loss?"

"There wasn't any major head trauma, but some damage around one eye," Christian said, consulting the notes. "But shock can do funny things to your memory."

"Oh." Ami tried really hard to remember, but that just gave her a headache. "Am i alright to go back to the dorms? I feel better..."

Christian ~~handwavey~~ took Ami's vitals. "Only if you promise to take it easy," he said. "No stenuous activity, and drink plenty of fluids, you're still dehydrated. The cuts seem to be healing just fine, but if you get any sign of infection, come back to the clinic."

"I think i can safely promise that i am really not up to anything other then sleep and TV watching" Ami said. She carefully felt some of the bandaging. "Janet ~~handwavedly~~said i had surgical incisions... I am not you know... missing anything am i?" Ok so she had read all sorts of scary kidney-missing detective novels.

"X-rays seem to indicate nothing was removed or implanted," Christian said. "You should be okay."

Ami nodded. "OK... good." She really wished she knew what was happening...

Setsuna had tried to stay up the whole night by Ami's side, but it didn't work very well, and she'd eventually fallen asleep. Waking up with a start, it took her a moment to recall where she was and why, and then her attention immediately dived toward Ami, to see if she was still okay.

Ami seemed okay. And awake. Noticing that Setsuna woke up she smiled. Which didn't hurt anymore. //"You didn't have to stay here the whole night."//

Setsuna blinked at her, looking a little surprised. //"But...you asked me to..."//

Ami totally did not remember doing that, but Setsuna wouldn't make that up. //"I did? Still, you should have gone home, to sleep..."//

Setsuna shook her head. //"I wanted to make sure you were all right. Even if I did return to the dorms, I'd have been too worried to really rest, anyway. But you...seem better."// A relieved smile slipped onto her face. //"Much better."//

//"Oh, you are so nice to worry. I am better, I think i may get to go back to the dorms today. I just wish i remembered anything..."//

//"...you don't recall anything at all?"//

Ami concentrated. //"I remember talking to Billy in the afternoon. We were going to go to a boardwalk town on Wednesday, but i guess i missed that now. And in the evening i went to the roof, to get some air. Wanted to clear my head before starting down on some homework first thing Monday morning."// she paused, frowning. //"And then I remember being in the clinic and Janet and scalpels?"//

Setsuna nodded quietly as she followed the story carefully. //"Well, today is only Tuesday; you did mention something to me about 'many days,' so I think that whatever happened to you happened in a way that had you either along a different time line or has simply altered your perception of time. Janet was the one who treated you; the scalpels came in from you...being....concerned about them. You asked specifically to be kept from any knives; I had trouble getting you to fall asleep because you...you said when you closed your eyes, scalples were all you saw..."//

As she spoke, Setsuna's concern kept running deeper and deeper.

//"It is Tuesday?"// Ami did mental math. //"I last remember Sunday. So i am missing one day that felt like many."// She pondered Setsuna's last words. She closed her ayes and yes there they were. She yelped, their presence felt so real. //"Right, no more closing my eyes then. Setsuna, why am i seeing scalpels?"//

Setsuna winced, regretting having mentioned it. //"I...I don't know, Ami. I...wish I did, but I...don't..."//

She didn't know anything, and she hated that...

//"At least the doctor said i am not missing anything..."// Ami didn't mention that he did not say about having anything extra either...
