FTEC - Wednesday Day Shift [1/17]

It was cold Wednesday morning, which was part of the excuse Wilson used to tuck his arm through Aziraphale's and walk very closely as they made their way down from the house to the clinic. He was sharing warmth with the angel you see...the angel who still didn't have a heavy winter coat.

....ahem!

So, he was being a concerned and attentive mate. Had nothing to do with...general...closeness and snuggling...really.

Upon getting to the clinic, Wilson moved immediately to get caught up on Cally's file. He frowned as he shrugged out of his coat and read the details of her injuries. The attack to the head was disturbingly familiar. Oh, not that he remembered anything about how he aquired his own injury but just the fact that who ever was making these attacks, seemed to be a big fan of headshots.

Checking in on her in the exam room, Wilson was careful to disturb as little as possible as he updated vitals and the like, then he slipped back out to the front desk. Aziraphale had settled himself in an out of the way corner, the coffee was already started by the angel's hand and Wilson gave his lover a grateful smile as he settled behind the front desk to continue the reading he had started last night.

Aziraphale had every intention of buying a new coat. Sometime. Very soon. When he had some free time that wasn't being taken up with class, office hours, fretting, hovering, crossword puzzles, and sex drinking tea.

Although, he had to admit that the benefit of not having a coat was that he got lots more snuggles. So, really he wasn't in that great a hurry.

A young doctor might not always be around to provide warm cuddles, however...especially if he was home sleeping off the effects of lots of sex his injuries.

The angel, would be getting a new winter overcoat...and maybe a scarf even.

"Hey, Dr. Wilson." Annette said as she entered, walking to the front desk before going back to see Cally.

Carefully marking his place in a book that painfully resembled the Oxford English dictonary, Wilson looked up and smiled at Annette.

"Good morning, Miss. Hargrove. What brings you down here today?"

Mac made her way down to the clinic straight after fifth period, she gave Wilson a quick smile. "Hi," she started. "Can I go in and see Cally?"

"Of course, Mac. Go on in."

Rosette had considered letting it go and waiting until tomorrow to see how the strange red rash on her neck was in the morning, but she figured it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out now and hopefully dealt with.

But, no, this wasn't going to be awkward. "I think I have herpes," announced the nun when she approached Wilson at the desk.

"Uh...pardon?" He asked, certain he could not have just heard that right.

Teddy came into the clinic after he stopped by All & Sundries, carrying the biggest and most unusual looking bouquet of flowers one could imagine. Turtle, it seemed, was a really good sales person.

He waved from behind the flowers. "Is Cally okay to have visitors?"

Looking up from his book, Wilson eyed the flowers and smiled with approval.

"Of course. Go on back, exam room one. I'm sure she'll appreciate the flowers."

Lana stopped in pretty early in the morning. "Hi, Dr. Wilson, Mr. Aziraphale. I just wanted to stop in and see Cally. I didn't hear about her till late last night."

"Good morning, Lana." Wilson said with a warm smile. "Of course. She's in exam one..." He blushed a little as Lana probably had plenty of experience heading for that room.

"Go on back. I'm sure she'll appreciate the visit."

Cameron dropped by before classes, he'd only brought himself apparently. He moved towards the desk. "Yo, doc. I wanted to come check up on Cally?"

Marking his place on the page, Wilson glanced up and smiled at Cameron.

"Hello there, Cameron. Go on back, she's in exam one. She's not awake yet but feel free to stay and talk with her if you wish."

Henry walked up to where Wilson was sitting. He was holding a small bouquet of flowers, and looked worried. "Sir? Do you know how Cally's doing?"

Wilson looked up at the young man, took in the flowers and the age and figured this was one of Cally's new classmates.

"Good morning. She's...resting comfortable." He said with a gentle smile.

Cally was still completely out of it. She had flowers, a thermos of now sadly cold soup, and a stuffed monkey... but not consciousness. She still looked horrible, but that really wasn't going to change overnight.

Annette was quiet when she entered, especially seeing that Cally was still out of it.

Last night she had snapped a picture of Poe with her polaroid camera; taking this from her pocketbook, she taped it to Cally's monitor, out of the way, but still visible to her if she woke. It was a cute picture. Poe's face was pressed against his cage and his little beady eyes were staring directly into the camera.

Looking down at Cally, Annette whispered, "Get well soon, Cally. I'll try to come back again this evening." She smoothed her hand over her arm and then left.

While Wilson was busy at the front desk, Aziraphale slipped back into the exam room to visit with Cally for a few moments. He had a cup of tea, which mostly he just set on the bedside table for the pleasant scent. He didn't say anything, just sat quietly for a few minutes, frowning a little. Then he smoothed Cally's blanket, making sure she was properly tucked in, and touched her hand before heading back out into the lobby.

Teddy set the giant bunch of flowers up next to the bed. "Told you I'd bring some," He told Cally, kinda hoping she'd wake up an make fun of the terrible arrangement of flowers, but, of course, nothing happened.

He gave her hand a small squeeze before leaving again to get back to work.

Wilson politely held the door for Rosette.

"Slip on up onto the exam table and we'll take a look."

Rosette did just that, immediately slipping off her veil so she could remove her cowl and present the icky red rash on her neck to Wilson. With a pout on her face. "It kind of itches," she said; she didn't know if that would be helpful.
