First stop when visiting the clinic.

The first moment from Rosette's bed in the past few days started as a small moan, a shifting of her head against the pillow, a slight twisting of her legs underneath the sheet. If he hadn't been right there watching her, Chrono probably wouldn't have noticed it at all. He perched on the edge of his chair. "R...Rosette?" he asked, tentatively holding out a hand toward her.

But that small moan quickly lead into a loud scream, and her body began to thrash a bit. Chrono lept into action, quickly holding her at the shoulders to stop her; if she moved too much, she'd upset her bandages. "Rosette! Rosette, wake up! Wake up, Rosette!"

The screaming continued, her blue eyes wild as they scanned the room, and she clutched at the body near her. "Oh, God, Rosette," Chrono gasped, trying to calm her, trying to get whatever sort of demons were in her head at that moment away as soon as possible. He held onto her stroked her back, her hair. "It's okay, Rosette, it's okay. You're all right, it was just a dream....just a dream, Rosette. Atta girl, that's right. It's okay..."

She calmed in his arms, reduced to confused sobbing. She was sputtering; the words she said were indiscernable, but Chrono still had an idea of what she was saying...

Thank God, though. She was okay, if a bit shaken.

Janet opened the door to the exam room. "Is everything all right in here?" she asked.

Chrono looked up as Rosette remained shaking and clinging to him. "She's woken up, but I think she may have done so because of a nightmare. Maybe something to calm her down? Some water, or some hot tea?"

"She's okay," he added. "This has happened before."

"Water," said Janet, getting a cup and filling it with some ice water. She took it over and held it out for Rosette. "How are you feeling?"

Rosette, her breath coming out in gasps of sobs, went to reach for the cup of water with both hands, not coming into the realization yet that the one was in a sling. She shakily took it, then, in her available one; Chrono helped her guide it to her mouth. She drank from it deeply before responding. "...I...I..." she whimpered, caving in around the cup. "My head hurts..."

"Of course it does," said Janet softly. "You've sustained several injuries. I can give you some ibuprofen for it once I've given you a quick exam."

"I don't know what that is," Rosette admitted, a bit miserably, "but if it'll make my head feel better, I'll take as much as you're willin' to give me."

"I'm not willing to give you very much at all," said Janet, reviewing Sister Rosette's chart. "But a low dosage should take care of the worst of the pain, and frankly, rest is the best cure of all for you. How about you try some orange juice and ibuprofen while I check your wounds over to see if any infection has set in?"

"Sounds like a good plan, Doc," Rosette said with a smile, and a careful nod, followed by a little bit of a yawn. "What day is it? I wonder how long I was out for this time..."

"It's Monday," Chrono offered. "And you've been out since late Friday night."

She blinked at him. "That long? Then why the hell'm I so tired still?"

"Well, you're concussed, you have multiple minor gunshot wounds, and I think according to your chart that some of your life force was drained?" Janet sighed. "Only in Fandom."

OOC: I hope I got that all right! I'm working by memory from your e-mail.

John was in a bit of a daze, not quite sleeping, not quite awake, and was jolted by the sound of the scream.

John then did his best impersonation of The Great Escape. Slowly. And with an IV stand.

Janet was standing in the doorway of Exam Three as soon as she heard John moving around in there. Her arms were crossed and she looked stern.

OOC: More after I get to work, okay?

"How is she?" John was a bit pale.

"Sister Rosette? She'll be just fine with a lot of rest, some fluids, and some painkillers." Janet glanced pointedly at the bed. "And you'll be just fine too, John, especially if you lay back down in bed."

"Fine." there may have been some grumbling as he clambered back in. "So she's fine?"

"She hasn't been discharged yet," said Janet, pulling per penlight out and flashing it in John's eyes quickly. "But she's not in serious condition."

"That's good. So. What's the verdict, doc? Will I play the piano again and run and jump like the other boys?"

"I'd say you'll heal up just fine, John," said Janet, smiling wryly. "Unless there's something in your chart here that I'm missing, which I highly doubt."

OOC: Uh, er, what are John's injuries, anyway? *dorky*

"Yes. I suffer from a rare genetic condition that can only be remedied with regulated doses of chocolate. It gets inflamed when dealing wtih crappy hospital food."

Uh, shot a few times in the arm and leg and shrapnel damage in the leg. Blood loss because Mr Hero decided to patch Rosette up instead of himself.

"Ah, I see," said Janet, smothering a grin. "Aren't you lucky that we have crappy clinic food instead?" She pulled a chocolate bar out of her pocket and held it up. "Stay in bed all night and be a good boy, and this could be yours when my shift ends."

OOC: *snerk* The really is the sort of thing he'd do.

John glared. NOt full on Deth!Glaaaar, but still, a sharp look. "Listen, I'll call the AMA, have your license revoked, and sue this place for harassment, discrimination, and bad food." There may have been a smile lurking or eye twinkles.

Janet remained serenely impervious to the glare. "Do we even have any lawyers in town any more?" She tossed the candy bar at him as a smile broke out over her face. "Honestly, you'd think I was keeping water from a dying man."

"Have you eaten the dreck they serve here? Unless you're the one who's cooked it, then in thta case you've earned my love for life, or at least until I can make a run for it."

John eagerly opened the candy bar with one hand and his teeth, not trusting his lame arm.

"Oh, please, I bring my own food when I come on duty," said Janet, sticking her tongue out at John. "Are you hungry? I think we have some fruit stashed away somewhere."

"Yeah, actually, that'd be great. Else I might come down with scurvy. Or something." He smiled.

Janet laughed. "You're not exhibiting any symptoms," she said, rummaging in her backpack and pulling out an orange. "But let's not take any chances. It'd ruin the clinic's reputation."

"oh, oh the scurvy. Oh, the pain. ow. Ow. Hyarrr." John did not hook his lame hand into a question mark shape.

Janet shook her head and left the orange on the table next to John's bed.

OOC: Bedtime!

john smiled and guy-nodded thanks.

~~OOC: wait. Janet's snoozing in John's bed? Wow! this IS a full service clinic! :D~~

"Call me if you need anything, John," said Janet, waving as she headed back out to the front desk.

OOC: *snerk* John so wishes, but I think Liz would murder them both!

Thre's a number of things that John needs, but he doesn't think Janet could find them.

Instead, he curled up and tried to go to sleep. There was something wrong with the pillow as it kept getting damp.
