Granny was cooking up a rather strong-scented cream that worked well on poison geranium and other rashes.

After he was done talking to Principal Washburn, a rather disgruntled-looking Tyler came into the clinic. "Are you the doctor?" he asked the old woman, who certainly didn't look like one. "Because my bandages are supposed to come off today."

"I'm the witch," Granny corrected brusquely. "Let's see those bandages."

Tyler considered it for a moment, then shrugged off his shirt, tossing it over the back of a nearby chair. There was still a large bandage covering a fair section of his chest, but the burns underneath were healing nicely.

"No turning me into a toad, okay?"

"Wouldn't do that to a well-behaved young man," Granny said, inspecting the burns. "Looks like you're doing fine." She rummaged around in her satchel and pulled out a small corked bottle. "Put a few drops of these in a bowl of water and soak a bandage in it, then bind up the wounds with that bandage. Do that at least twice a day. And... make sure you pass all pine trees on the right until it's fully healed."

Tyler gave her an odd look, but figured he had heard stranger at support groups. "Pass pine trees on the right. Got it," he said,reaching to take the bottle from her. "Is it okay to go back to exercising and everything?"

"You can go back to your usual tasks," Granny nodded.

"Thank you," Tyler said, feeling grateful as he pulled his shirt back on. "I'll be back if it starts hurting."

He left the clinic.
