Thursday February 2, 2006

Even he thinks it's ironic that he's put more hours in to the clinic since resigning than he put in any other time.

There is some sadness in him about leaving. He's gotten sed to it. He actually cares about the kids at Fandom High.

But it's time. He's ready to move on. To what, he's not sure. Maybe nothing. Maybe he'll just retire and enjoy the days without responsibility or obligation. Maybe he'll learn to cook so he can fix elaborate dinners for Geoff.

He'd spent the night at Geoff's, and once settled behind the clinic desk, he pulled out his phone to check messages. There was just one but it seemed the world stopped while he listened to it.Arcs of pain throbbed in lis leg. He knew it was subconscious, there was nothing wrong with his leg.

In any case, the clinic is open around 10 am, though the doctor is nowhere *ahem: Read: NOWHERE* to be seen. With Cash on the radio and Coffe in the pot the clinic is, apparently abandoned. Feel free to stop by, because the doors are open...

Anders was going to stop by the clinic today anyway. But having heard Dewey's announcement, he figures he should make a point of it, so after lunch he heads clinic-ward. He can hear the music and smell the coffee, but he's a little perplexed by the emptiness as he peers through the doors.

"Um. Doc? Anybody?"

Pippi also wanders in holding an exotic looking walking stick (http://static.flickr.com/39/93365057_7e0ced25ba.jpg?v=0") and two old (http://ejmas.com/jnc/jncart_barton-wright_0200.htm) books (http://ejmas.com/jnc/jncart_barton-wright_0400.htm).

"Greg?"

"Can I help you?" Susan is sipping her coffee when she comes out to see one of the students looking perplexed.

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-02 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Did he leave already?" asked Pippi with her arms full of stuff.

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-02-02 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Did who leave?" Susan asked. "I'm Dr. Pevensie, I don't think we've met?"

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Greg." she shook her head, "I'm sorry, I'm over reacting. I'd just hoped to give him something. Hello Dr. Pevensie. I'm Pippi Longstocking."

She shifted the walking stick and books in her arms and held out her hand.

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Pippi." Susan shook her hand. "I don't believe Dr. House?" She said it questioningly, not certain that Pippi was referring to the same person so familiarly. "Has left town quite yet. Although I'm not sure if he will be returning to the clinic proper."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
Pippi's handshake is quite firm for a girl her size, but not painfully so.

Pippi still couldn't figure out why people acted so confused when she talked about Greg... He'd told her to call him "Greg"... Maybe it wasn't really his name and he'd always wanted to be "Greg"...

"Yes, Dr. House." she said nodding, "It's okay, he told me where he's staying in town. I can take this to him there I guess. He speaks very highly of you. I think I saw you in the gym this weekend. Though I rather kind of got the impression you were a different kind of Doctor."

[identity profile] susanofnarnia.livejournal.com 2006-02-03 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
"I am, I'm a counselor and a psychiatrist. But I've had medical training, the same as any doctor." Susan smiled. "I'm glad he speaks well of me. You're probably one of the students he's going to be missing. I didn't see you this last weekend, but as you said, I was very busy. Is there anything I can do for you here?"

Some point late in the day

Alanna came into the clinic, Faithful on her shoulder and something bulky in her bag.

"Dr. House, is it true that you're leaving?" Alanna put her bag down on an empty chair.

Alanna bit down on her lower lip. "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. Um, I really liked working with you are you sure you can't stay?"

Alanna nodded. "I get that." She bounced up and down, unsure of what to do. On the one hand, boys don't hug, on the other, she's a girl.

The Counselor is In

Susan got in around 10am, and opened her office to await her re-scheduled appointment with Susan Ivanova.

Looking rather pale and slightly favouring her right arm, Ivanova limped into the office, knocking lightly on the door. "Dr. Pevensie?"

[[Day of death. Sorry for teh late.]]

"Ivanova, are you all right?" Susan asked, concerned. "Why don't you sit down? Are you really up for a session today?"

[np, we can keep it short if you want]

Ivanova shrugged her left shoulder. "I'm fine, Dr. Pevensie. Just a little banged up from the weekend. It'll straighten itself out in a few days." She limped over to a chair and sat down a bit gingerly. "My head wound healed nicely."

[[Fandom keeps me sane after days of death. Although I have to call my mumsy, so I'll be gone for a bit.]]

"If youre sure. Would you like some ibuprofen, before we get started?" Susan grabbed her notebook and pen, then settled herself on the couch. "Did you remember the dream journal this week?"

Re: The Counselor is In

[identity profile] suzotchka.livejournal.com 2006-02-02 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"No ibuprofen, thanks," Ivanova replied. "I don't like taking painkillers." Or any drugs, for that matter. "I, um, did remember the dream journal, but the only dream I remember wasn't one I wanted to, um, commit to paper." She might have blushed a little around the ears. If she weren't Ivanova. Ergo, not blushing. "At least not without a flowery penname and a three-book contract," she muttered.

Susan laughed at this and said, "Then I'll simply ask you if you felt it was your own dream, or influenced by anyone around you, in light of our discussion from last week. Did you find the meditative techniques helpful either?"

"It was most definitely my own dream," Ivanova replied. "As far I know, Lyta hasn't even met T- um, it was my own." She frowned. "I haven't had a chance to try any yet. After we talked, that storm rolled in, and then it got pretty crazy. I haven't done much but go to class and fall asleep since." She didn't mention the part about sitting in one position for long causing her not insignificant amounts of pain. "Sorry I'm not being very helpful."
