The passage of air was LOUD today and Wilson moved very, very carefully in an attempt to keep the air as still as possible. He was late opening the Clinic not because he was late getting *to* the Clinic but because he was moving very slowly…in the hope of keeping the air really quiet.

Getting the doors open, he started a pot of coffee and sucked back the third 20oz bottle of water he’d been drinking since about oh…not too many hours ago. Putting a happy face on, he managed to do rounds without passing out, which was a blessing, checking in on Rory, Logan and Jack before crawling back up to the front desk.

Sitting down, very carefully –DAMN AIR WILL YOU SHUT UP!- Wilson leaned forward till he could cradle his head on his forearms. Seven…liquors….what the hell had he been thinking last night?

Dragging his water bottle down into his lap to snuggle it close, Wilson reached for the half a piece of bagel he’d been trying to choke down for over an hour now. He was about half-way through it. By noon he might be finished with it.

If I live that long…Crowley is going to kill me.

Taking a slow breath, Wilson sat up and reached for a chart. He was being in his charting and really needed to catch up, if the little black squiggly lines would just stay still long enough for him to read them.

"At who? At him? Hell yes. Very mad. And you don't want to know how Logan feels," Rory says ruefully. Her expression shifts to a reassuring smile. "At you, no. I mean, you've met him and talked to him and all. It's not like you helped him or hid him or anything. Right?"

Shit. Cameron stiffens. He can kick himself for not having seen this one coming, but he doesn't want to lie. "I helped Angel," he says softly. "Not Angelus." He pauses and nods. "I can go if you want me to."

Rory bites her lip, her eyes darkening. "Helped him do what?"

"Get him to a doc to get the bullets out of his chest," Cameron replies honestly.

Rory smiles. "I forgot he got shot. I hope it hurt. And...had you known what he...y'know, what he'd done to me and Logan, then?"

Cameron winces and nods. "Yeah, I did."

Rory goes very still, trying not to let her face show how hurt she is. "Oh. That's...oh."

"Shit, Rory." He kinda wishes she'd shout at him or something. "I don't... I'm sorry for what Angelus did and I was angry, I just..." He falters, trying to come up with the words. "Do you know what I did when I got all drugged up?"

She picks at some lint on the bedspread. "No, what did you do?" she asks softly.

"I don't actually remember it myself, but I hurt people. I hurt Vala and I even physically hurt John," he takes a deep breath. "At that point, I probably could have killed someone. I didn't, I got lucky and no one's held it against me once. I don't think I have a right to judge."

Rory shrugs, still looking down. "We know conclusively that you're not like that anymore, though. It's not the same. He's still...he's still evil, somewhere in there. And you...you knew he had hurt me and Logan and Kitty, and..." She shakes her head, chewing on her lower lip.

Cameron closes his eyes for a moment. "I won't say I'm sorry for helping him, Rory, because I'm not. I'm sorry to disappoint you. Just... if I really thought he was Angelus, there would be no way I'd have helped him."

"Thank you for the cake," Rory says quietly.

Cameron swallows and nods. Deciding to not push the point as he doesn't want to hurt her anymore. "Get better soon," he says softly before turning and leaving Rory alone.
