It was a busy day at the clinic today. Not because of any patients (at least not yet), but because instead of the twenty boxes of supplies arriving on one rickshaw, apparently there were twenty rickshaws with one box each.

"Why?" he groaned, after box number fifteen showed up. "Just... why."

"Whoa, you guys okay in here?" Eddie asked, eying the sheer number of boxes with flyers in hand. "This one of those... Alexa misordering things?"

He was so good at technology.

“Not exactly,” Will shook his head. “I was expecting all this stuff, just- all at once, and not the slow trickle it’s been today. Every time I think I have a chance to start putting away boxes, another shipment arrives that I have to sign for.”

"Need any help?" Of course Eddie would offer. It combined air conditioning, being useful, and socializing. Win-win.

“Sure, man,” Will said with a nod. Yeah, he would’ve been able to put everything away by himself, but boring tasks always went by faster when you had help. Not to mention someone to talk to.

"I also have a ulterior motive with flyers if you'll put them up here," Eddie admitted with a grin. They were the one that he put out, that McGarrett had altered to cross out FD in favor of the Trooper Station, with the Trooper Station crossed out and FD written back in.

“That depends,” Will said. “Let’s take a look,” he held out a hand for one of those aforementioned flyers.

Eddie very gladly handed them over. And definitely didn't have the tug-o-war crossed out because he was pretty confident in the pulling power of the department.

"I will put out there that you should support the Fire Department as a fellow medical professional."

He was an EMT, not a doctor, don't let the smile fool you.

Will looked over the flyers, snickering as he got to the crossed-out part. “I don’t know,” he drawled, looking thoughtful. “One of the guys from the Trooper Station is a pretty good friend…”

"Tall guy with tattoos or short guy with hair?" He'd only met one and was basing the description off of what Buck told him, so...

This was Watts and Diego erasure right here.

“Tall guy with tattoos,” Will confirmed.

It was absolutely Diego and Watts erasure, even if Will hadn’t met those two either.

"The only one I've met," Eddie replied. Which was weird, right? "He's actually part of why this is happening."

He meant the hypercompetitive nature jumped out.

Well, to be fair, one of the other cops had been stuck in the past until recently, and one was even newer around here than Eddie. No excuse for why he hadn’t met Danny, though.

“How’s that?”

"Navy guys are weirdly competitive," Eddie said like that was a thing.

“No argument there,” Will said drily. “Though to be entirely fair, so’s literally everyone I’ve ever met who’s spent time in the military.”

"I'm not competitive." Eddie, my brother in Christ, you were handing out competing flyers.

“Could’ve fooled me,” Will said, tapping the crossed-out bits of the flyer.

"That was correcting them. Healthy competition," he suggested.

“If you say so,” Will said, struggling to keep a straight face.

"So, you'll be support us?" Eddie asked hopefully.

“What’s in it for me?” Will asked, mostly joking.

"The knowledge that you picked the superior emergency service agency," Eddie suggested.

See, it was things like that that caused the station to get drugged. You can't trust the general public like that, Eddie.

Okay, but was Will technically a member of the general public, given that he too was an emergency service provider?

Also he would not be bringing hallucinogen-laced baked goods to this thing, for the record.

“You and Buck do make a compelling argument.” No one tell Jay, shh.

"So, team Firefighters?" It would make them every so happy to hear!

"Yeah, yeah, you've twisted my arm."

Sorry Steve.

"It's the winning side!" Eddie replied. "We're just making sure you're on it."

Which also have boxes.

Being awake was a mistake.
