As was his usual routine, Will was checking the exam rooms to make sure everything was in order, when-

"Oh, I'd leave that be if I were you," one of the nurses said, shaking their head as he went towards Exam Two.

"Don't tell me," Will deadpanned. "There's a gremlin again."

He didn't wait for an answer, just pushed the door open and-

There was a gremlin. Again. Only this time instead of being surrounded by apples it was on a gurney hooked up to- "Is that a saline drip?"

"Like we were going to argue with a gremlin?" the nurse who'd tried to warn him away pointed out.

"Good point," Will agreed, shutting the door.

The clinic was open! Although exam two was, once again, off-limits.

Where Will is.

Rey was on dogsitting duty, which meant Will was getting sent pictures of Kol being especially cute investigating the warehouse woodchucks.

So the first reply Rey would get to those pictures was a very emphatic:

Followed by:

Is he making friends?

He seems to be! They like him much more than they like me

Do they know that you’re much less likely to drool on them, though?

I don't think they care. I don't do this

Which was followed by video of the woodchucks chucking wood that Kol was going to have to retrieve.

Their fondness for throwing things and his for going to get them is clearly a perfect match.

I can't believe I only just thought of it. I might spend all of training watching this.

She wouldn't, but she was tired.

Accompanied by a somewhat blurry shot of the gremlin still hooked up to the IV.

what happened???

Wish I knew. Came in & he? she? it? did gremlins have a gender? Did they care? was just… there. Nobody is willing to disturb it. Which was totally fair, honestly.

Rey had once used a pronoun about her gremlin assistant in front of him and went with that when he seemed cool with it.

Thats a smart move. I hope they're okay

Every time I open the door there's just hissing, so IDK.

Actually? Yeah.

Sure, the gremlin wasn't biting anyone or anything, but it had been through a hell of a lot of saline drips so far today. Those things didn't grow on trees, you know.

Ok. I'll get Kol together and be right over.

It was a bit before Rey was able to get over there, sending, Can I bring him inside?

Yeah, no one will mind. He'd brought Kol by more than once himself, after all.

So a moment after that, Rey was stepping inside with Kol. "All right, what can I do?"

Will's shoulders slumped a little in relief as Rey stepped inside.

"How're your negotiation skills?" Will's were, uh. Not great. For the record.

"Not great," she admitted. "But maybe I can coax them calm."

"They've been anything but any time I tried opening the door." So yes, Rey, please use your superpowers that Will definitely didn't really understand to try and get the gremlin safely out of the clinic.

"Okay," she nodded. "Do you mind if I open it then?"

“Go for it,” Will said, taking hold of Kol’s lead and stepping back. Like a chicken.

Rey stopped outside the door, reaching out with the Force first, as a warning of sorts that someone was coming in. She hadn't had to do this in a long time, but it was easy enough to get across that she was friendly and here to help.

Or at least she didn't hear hissing when she opened the door.

No hissing, though Kol made an attempt to lunge forward as the door opened.

“No, boy. Stay,” Will murmured, keeping a firm hold of his lead.

The gremlin, meanwhile, just eyed Rey, with an expression that could possibly be deemed ‘suspicious’.

"We're here to help," she said softly, and she really did have a total air of calm about her. "Will you let us?"

Where Will can be. Minus the, er, occupied room.

Nrrrgh.
