Fandom Clinic; Thursday [02/10].

Libby's study work that day seemed to involve reviewing a lot of unusual and bizarre emergency room cases, she assumed to give her a better idea of just how wide the breadth of possibilities truly was and how to think outside of the box, but she got the feeling that most of the stranger cases simply involved someone going and putting something somewhere that it definitely didn't belong, and reviewing these cases and having to come up with how she could have handled it if she were put in those scenarios was definitely doing a lot help her practice not being too squeamish! And among all the ones that made her wince and cringe just thinking about them, there were a few oddly fascinating ones, and she couldn't help thinking of the fact that some of these were probably nothing compared to some of the odd and strange things the nurses here at the Fandom Clinic had to deal with, and, so honestly? She hurried through her worksheets so that she could just ask them some of their stories, because that felt far more helpful and engaging than just reading about them.

To think, at one point in her life, she thought Littles sticking Legos up their noses would be the worst of it, too!

The Clinic is open!

"Hey Libby, how's it going?" Kurt asked as he walked up to the front desk, typical lunch offering in hand. "Nothing too fancy today I'm afraid" he said holding it up with a slight grin. "But figured some soup might be nice. Made some sausage and potato soup. Made enough for the nurses to" he said holding up a second bag with a larger container inside.

"Hope you like it!" he said as he set the bags down, handing the larger one over to one of the nurses as they passed by.

"Things have been good. I wanted to thank you again for letting me use some of your papers a week or so ago. I handwavely got a few letters written and sent back home. Just got a letter back from the Professor this morning!"

Kurt noticed the quick change in Libby's expression but didn't want to pry. So he gave her a nod and a smile instead.

"It's good hearing back from home isn't it?" Here he had to give a laugh and a slight eye roll of his own. "Things seem pretty much the same back at the Academy. Logan and Scott are still bickering as usual. And Kitty...well my version of Kitty has been helping the Professor with some things at the school."

Kurt shook his head as he thought back on the notion of writing letters to Professor Xavier of all people. He then realized the humor in that would be lost on Libby so he continued.

"It's kinda odd, writing letters to the Professor... him being a telepathic Mutant and all" he said with a bit of a shrug.

"Yeah... he can read minds. And he can "talk" to us in our minds too... no words spoke. Which is really good when we are training or if we have to fight someone or something... but it is still really odd" Kurt admitted with a sigh. "The Professor is more than just our teacher, he is the leader of the school and also the leader of the X-Men right now. But he's really good about not prying into our thoughts more than what is needed. That's the reason for the letters. I promised him I would keep in touch in exchange for him not poking at me while I'm here in Fandom" he said with a laugh. "And we decided on letters because there's a few handwavey mutants at the school who can actually affect electronics and such so computers are not always a reliable option. And I don't think the Professor even owns a phone" Kurt added with a shrug.

"He said he was 'very pleased to hear all is well and to get a note from me' so yeah, I think so" Kurt said with a slight laugh.

"I used to say my folks could read minds too... or at least that they had eyes on the back of their head. They did a good job keeping up with a troublemaker like me so they might as well have had super powers!" Kurt paused for a moment and then gave Libby a small smile. "Guess all parents have some level of super power huh?"

Will absolutely had plenty of those stories, Libby.

He also had a hot chocolate as a sort of 'sorry for temporarily abandoning you' offering.

"Quiet day so far?" he asked, like he hadn't just rolled in looking like he'd lost a fight (with a car) recently.

"Got hit by a car," he explained, for what felt like the dozenth time that day. Will, you showed up all injured, of course people were going to ask. "I'm fine, though. Been checked out already." He was leaving out the part where he'd ignored the fluid in his lungs a bit too long, though.

"The day before yesterday, at the hospital I w- used to work at, and... probably," that last was said with at least a touch of self-awareness. "But I wanted to swing by and say hi."

To be entirely fair, now, Libby, it was less 'boys' and more 'medical professionals made terrible patients' (Hi there, charge nurse Maggie 'I donated my kidney two weeks ago but here I am running triage at a mass casualty site' Lockwood).

"Bossy," he tsked at her, but it wasn't in a disapproving way. "How about we take over one of the exam rooms and drink these," he held up the hot chocolates, "and you can fill me in on what I've missed however handwavily, and then I'll go- home." Forgive him if he stumbled over that last word, he was still getting used to the idea of Fandom being more than temporary.
