FTEC, Monday - 4/28
Sam had dusted off what had probably been used as a conference room at one point in the use of the clinic for today. There were a selection of mismatched chairs facing inside the room in an awkward little sharing circle. And for anyone not inclined toward that, there were tables with coffee and cookies.
So, you could at least get something to snack on while you were there!
Fun times.

Take a Seat
Re: Take a Seat
Because that was his job, damn it.
"My name is Sam Wilson. No, you don't have to say, 'hi, Sam' to that. I was a para-rescue trooper overseas and I lost my partner over there. One minute we were flying next to each other and the next he was going down from RPG fire. After that, I left the Air Force. I couldn't fly again."
Until Captain America, of course.

So, he'd shown up, thinking that maybe it'd help him come to terms with the death of his parents. Didn't seem like it could hurt, at least.
"Will," he said, nodding. "My parents just recently died in an airplane crash. I'm not really dealing with it well."
Short and sweet seemed appropriate.

Best way he could think of to describe it.

He wasn't even touching on Fandom's trauma, yet.
//I'm missing a bit, but that's good for now.//
Other people might want the floor.

"That's alright," Sam assured him. "And you're still standing. That's an important one."

"Kitty Pryde," she began. "I'm a mutant, which I'm fine with but it's led to a whole bunch of problems, and Fandom seems to take every chance it can get to mess with me in all the bad ways."
There was tons more, but she hadn't decided how much she felt like sharing in group yet.

"I'm Seifer Almasy. Grew up being trained as a mercenary, was brainwashed by an evil sorceress who wanted to basically kill everyone she couldn't rule, killed a bunch of ...kids. I can't say soldiers because most of them were still kids. Moved on, or tried to," he stopped. Seifer had tried to get get it all out at once, but had to take a breath and refocus. "But, uh, I recently lost my wife in a car accident."

"Hey, I'm Jack," she said, rubbing her hand nervously along the stubble at the side of her head. "Got kidnapped by psycho terrorists when I was a kid. They raised me to kill. Broke out, bounced through a couple prisons, was a pirate for a while, ended up getting dragged out of jail to save the fucking universe. Came out of it with a job teaching kids. And that's -- y'know, whatever. I'm still pissed about it but it's life."
She drew a deeper breath and continued. "But my commander, the first person to ever look at me and see somebody good -- she got killed saving us again. And now I can't stop thinking I'm letting her down."

Coffee was kind of nasty.

Then she tasted the coffee and decided she could just hold it and hope it worked by osmosis.

Still, he was going to pretend to be social while he took in the faces in the group. He was not at all surprised that he wasn't the only one here who used to wear an X. Nope.

Talk to Sam
Re: Talk to Sam
He was...unimpressed with the food, though he supposed the setup was no worse than any public building, and was hardly the man's fault.
"Mr. Wilson." He held out his hand to shake. "Doctor Hannibal Lecter. I saw your flyers and I thought I would drop by and say hello."
