FTEC, Sunday [8/8]

Ellie had been at the clinic since yesterday. The entire time, really. She was there mostly in case extra medical staff was needed, considering the latest craziness. It had been a petty restless few days, too. She had been too anxious with worry about everyone who was missing, especially her brother.

The clinic, at least, kept her somewhat distracted.

Anakin shrugged out of the sodden cloak and then looked down at his tunic. "This is going to be gross," he said as he saw the claw marks.

Wincing slightly he removed the vambraces, then the outer tunic. The inner one was kind of stuck into his back.

Loooovely.

"Oh no. In all my medical training, I never saw anything that was gross," Martha said with a hint of a smirk for Anakin. No, it certainly wasn't pretty, but she'd seen worse. "What did you go up against?" she asked, putting on gloves and carefully touching Anakin's back to try to figure out where to start in getting him cleaned up.

"I want to call it a pterodactyl," Anakin said, "but it had kind of a human face. It got me with both claws down the back, then went for my chest."

"Please tell me it's dead and not still roaming around out there?" Martha asked, getting gauze and supplies to clean out the wounds.

"It's very, very dead," Anakin said with a grim little smile. "How bad does it look?"

"Not as bad as I imagine it must feel," Martha said. "I'll get you cleaned up, and I can try to bandage you up without stitches." People seemed to have a thing against those today.

"Stitches are fine," Anakin said with a smile. "They help me know where everything's supposed to go when I work in a healing trance."

That got Martha to smile as well. Ah, reasonable patients, what a blessing they were. "All right then. I'll try to be quick, so you can get home and rest."

"Thanks," Anakin said. "I have a wife and baby waiting a little anxiously for me. And I need a shower and a change of clothes in the worst way."

"I would definitely advise changing your clothes," Martha said, carefully pulling Anakin's tunic away from his skin and getting down to the business of cleaning and stitching up his wounds. "I'm sure your family must be very proud to have you keeping them safe."

"I married a Fandom girl," Anakin said with the easy smile that always came to his face when he talked about Rory. "She expects me to do this sort of thing."

"Oh, well done," Martha said resisting the urge to pet Anakin. "I suppose that also means she isn't surprised when you come home bandaged up?"

"Not terribly," Anakin admitted, "but she doesn't like it."
