She’d contemplated bringing Liir (who was still a kitten, geez) down to the clinic, but had decided not to because, seriously, that had to be unsanitary, right? Fur and sterile didn’t sound like they matched up too well.

Twirling a pen around in one hand, Ino settled into study her notes. And sip at her water while wondering if she ought to have stopped by the Perk to get a hot chocolate.

Ichigo was feeling antsy this morning even if he strangely enough dreamt of something other than a world where the clouds rushed to the grounds. What he did dream about was decidedly more uncomfortable than getting your ass kicked by a hollow.

So he was banning any dream thoughts to the back of the back of the back of his mind and he replaced it by showing up at the clinic with a bag of pastries and two cups of hot chocolate.

A quick glance at the door, and then she was grinning down at her notebook.

"Oh," Ino said lightly, "it's just you."

He made a face. "Well, if you're expecting someone better..."

"I never said that," she insisted, giggling. "Just that you're here pretty often."

"I just came to give these to the nurses and then leave, so you don't have to worry," he lied.

Oh, now that was a blatant lie.

...or at least it had better be.

"You do that," she said, with a sniff.

"Are they in the back?" he asked, looking around for the nurses.

They were.

"I don't know," she said, with a shrug. "You could always leave it here 'til they come back."

"You'd just eat it," he accused.

"Not if you stayed here to guard it," she pointed out.

"I thought you didn't want me to hang around," he raised an eyebrow.

"It's not the best solution," she conceded, shrugging a bit, "but I'd survive."

"I wouldn't want to burned you like that," he decided after a moment and he started down the hall to the nurses' station.

"If you really do give them all of that," Ino informed him, leaning back in her chair, "you're never getting a kiss again."

Ichigo stopped in his tracks and glanced back at her over his shoulder. "You'll have to put up with me hanging around," he bargained.

"I already said I'd survive," she reminded him.

"Fine then," he relented and he moved back to the desk, placing down the cups and the bag of pastries. "If you're certain."

"I'm always certain," she informed him, contemplating the cups. "Even when I'm wrong."

"That's a good thing?" he asked and since she wasn't getting up from her chair, he was going to have to sit on the desk. There.

"Better than being wishy-washy 'bout stuff, don't you think?" She leaned over to poke at his leg.

He tried to thwap her hand in response. "Less embarrassing," he replied, though she could take that comment either way.
