FTEC, Friday

Ronan was, mostly, only peripherally aware of the things happening on the island. He'd missed the town hall meeting the day before, and wasn't one to listen to radio. Still, it was hard to miss that they'd moved -- again -- and things in the back of his head had him more than a little on edge.

So he was there for his shift bright and early Friday morning, making sure things were in order in case the 'being on edge' thing was heralding an influx of patients.

How Liz managed to get to the clinic following her encounter (http://pyroliz.livejournal.com/10605.html#cutid1) this morning she didn't know. She stumbled in, trying to keep herself from passing out, "hello?" she trembled faintly.

Ronan flew into action. "What happened?" he asked, practically leaping around the desk to come in and support her.

"Can I get some help up here?" he called to the nurses; two of them rushed forward into the lobby. "Prep exam one -- lacerations, blood loss, trauma kit. You know what I need?" The nurses, well used to his magic by now, nodded; one of the went off to prepare the exam room, the other came to help Ronan with Liz.

Gwynn would never have usually taken herself to the clinic, but after her fight (http://notafairmaiden.livejournal.com/19659.html) in the tournament, she figured blood loss was a bad thing.

"Can I-" Dammit, Ronan though, after cutting himself off. It's going to be one of those days. "What happened?" he asked, instead.

As the one nurse finished getting the room ready, Ronan and the other nurse helped Liz onto the exam table.

Ronan lead Gwynn into the exam room. "All right," he said, "let's see here, shall we?" Diagnostic wizardries fired up in his head, and he leaned forward to examine the shoulder wound closely. "It looks fairly deep," he said. "You said this was from the tournament?"

Gwynn was tired and nodded at him. "Miss Atreides kept him from killing me when it looked like he wasn't going to obey the rules." She sighed. "I lost."

Ronan was still around, having decided to stay for the evening shift. He was busier back in the exam rooms, keeping things organised, but was otherwise available for anyone coming in.

Between the island moving and the supposed tournament going on, the clinic seemed like the most appropriate place for Martha to be. She went right up to the desk when she came in, and smiled when she saw someone besides the nurses there. "Hi there. Are you...Ronan?" she asked, hoping she'd remembered his name right from the clinic files.

"Hi, yes," Ronan said, smiling. "Can I help you? Oh, are you-" He'd read the memo, dammit, he should remember this. "-Dr. Jones?"

Tony cleared his throat, looking around the clinic. "This is what my tax dollars pay for?"

He cleared his throat. "Hey, we need some help here!"

Sam came in with Tony and Tyler, still trying not to look at his hand. "Um? Excuse me? Can I get some morphine and then a doctor?"

"It's pretty bad," Jack called out, trying not to stare at the hand too openly. He'd seen worse, but not often.

Martha was ignoring any comments about how uncivilized the facilities were as she motioned to the bed. "Have a seat. Before you ask, I assure you, it's perfectly clean," she said.

"Good." Tony huffed, going to sit gingerly on the bed. "Are you a doctor? Or did I just find an attractively competent nurse to keep me from bothering the rest of the clinic?"

Martha had gotten Ronan's attention to get him to join her to check on Sam, hoping he might be able to help.

Ronan was there, looking perhaps a little weary, but otherwise ready to do what he could. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked.

I'm around for a wee bit still tonight, if anyone has a thread they want to start playing out for tomorrow, and then I should be around most of the day tomorrow before heading off to work. (I've got a couple of errands in the morning, but I should be back by 10 or 11AM Eastern.)

I do work tomorrow evening, unfortunately, so patients coming in will be met by other clinic workers (Martha, at least, will be around) until I get back, which will probably be late -- 11PM Eastern, probably. Feel free to mod Ronan in the background, though, as needed, for any patients/doctors/clinic helpers around in the evening.
