It had occurred to her last night, after she’d been up longer than was really a good for her, that there was at least one good reason to go home that had absolutely nothing to do with her parents.

As such, Ino wasn’t studying her medical texts today, but rather going over other paperwork and making sure she had enough money to pull off the registration. She’d be up to her eyeballs in medical scrolls, and textbooks soon enough. She could miss this one day, from her studies.

It was about time, after all, that she went legal with them--and definitely a good idea to do it before Temari, or Hinata-chan got wind of where she’d learned it from.

Yeah. Definitely a good idea, there. Hm. Maybe she’d be able to track Tenten down too...

Ino is here, and working with numbers.

Michael wanders in, for no particular reason.

"Hey."

She glanced up, almost absently, from her work.

Then blinked.

"You're not hurt, are you?" Because then Ino would have to stab things.

"No", he assured her, in spite of the place. "And if I was, Wyatt owes me a favour. Just haven't seen you for awhile."

"You've been hermitting," she said, having to smile. He'd come to see her, after all. "Totally not my fault for the lack of being seen."

"You didn't come by", he countered. "Since when do you let me hermit?"

She shrugged a bit. "Thought I'd let you get it our of your system?"

That, and she was rather used to being left to her own devices for weeks on end. Kabuto had done that, so.

But she wasn't going to mention that reason to Michael.

Probably not a good idea, no.

He shrugged. "Guess I have now, then."

Ino grinned at him. "And I'm the lucky recipient of your company? Excellent."

"Can't think of anyone left on the island who'd get it first", he told her honestly. Isabel was gone, after all.

"I'm glad anyway," she said, though that did take a bit of the shiny out of it. Ah well.

"What have you been hermitting about lately?" Ino asked, tucking the papers she'd been going over into one of her notebooks and closing it.

"Nothing really." He shrugged. "Kind of homesick now Izzy left."

"I bet she'd like it if you called her just to talk," she suggested. "That might help."

"Yeah, I... do. I mean, I will. But it's weird, I wouldn't even have met that Isabel without this place, and there was a lot of stuff she wouldn't tell me, but she was here, you know? And I wish Max and the other Izzy could get to be here too."

"Maybe they'll come and visit," Ino said. "Parent's weekend should be coming in a month or two, and it doesn't have to be our parents that come--last time my teammates came."

And her dad.

"...good point." He brightens visibly. "I'll mention it when I call them."

"All my points are good," she informed him. "But it's nice to hear so."

"Hey, I call it as I see it." He grinned.

Ino wrinkled her nose cheerfully at him. "As if I'm going to object to that, seriously."

"Didn't think you would."

Yeah. Ino stuck her tongue out at him, then laughed.

"Do me a favour?"

"Depends what it is."

That was fair, she supposed. "Nothing bad," Ino promised. "Just... look after Liir while I'm away?"

That got her a careful look.

"First, where're you going? Second, why does Liir need looking after this time?"

"Home for a few days," she sighed. "I'm heading out bright and way crazy early tomorrow morning. Dad insists. And Liir needs looking after 'cause he's a total dork."

Yes. That was her reasoning.

"Fun." He pulled a face, possibly influenced by his own idea of home. "And agreed, but is he actually going to get himself in trouble?"

Ino couldn't help but agree with his expression. "If I'm lucky Dad'll be out on a mission and I'll be spared the lecture, but whatever. It's Liir, seriously, he needs looking after."

Michael snorted.

"Okay. I'll do my best."

She beamed. "I knew I could count on you."

This? Is where Ino doesn't want to see you.

The nurses aren't quite sure what to think after a day of Ino not chattering for hours at them, but they'll help with any of your clinic needs.
