Katara was almost too excited about her birthday tomorrow to notice the oddities outside.  Almost.  So she spent lots and lots of time getting the exam rooms all stocked up just in case the oddities developed into something less...odd.

Gladys tromped in, cradling Lucas in her arms. "He Has Fainted And I Cannot Wake Him Up So I Brought Him To The Clinic. You Must Look After Him."

Startled, Katara looked up. "What happened to him?" she asked, gesturing for Gladys to follow her back into an exam room (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/493058.html?thread=10196226#t10196226).

"I Do Not Know. I Found Him Like This In The Perk And He Did Not Wake Up," she replied.

"Well, put him down so I can look him over," Katara said quickly, gesturing towards the bed.

Gladys did as she was told, setting him down carefully on the bed, then stepping back to await further instructions.

The spirits had done a good job on Lucas, drawing out so much of his life force that he was holding to his body by a thread, appearing to be in a deep coma.

Katara pulled a flow of water from her waterskin and concentrated for a moment until it glowed a bright white. She held her hands over his head, water pulsing between them, and slowly drew them down the length of his body, trying to find what was wrong with him.

She lowered her hands finally, frowning in annoyance. "It's just like Adah," she said, making a face. "Or Peter. Why can't it ever be something we can fix?"
