FTEC, Saturday Evening [June 7]

Igor was sketching an elaborate and complicated schematic on a very large piece of white paper, tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth in concentration.

It was quite a sight.

Scraps was chewing on a rubber ball in the corner of the waiting room, tails thumping on the floor as he watched Igor. Yes, tails. Igor had given him a new one this week. Best not ask where he got it.

Sticking around a little after her shift as was starting to be a bit customary for her, Adah tilted her head a bit and commented, "Someone seems hard at work."

Adah moved over for a closer look, head tilting as her eyes scanned the paper, wondering where in the jumble of sketching to start. "Oh?"

Oh, yes. Simple. Adah eyed the lump a little dully for a moment, and her head shook slightly. "But what draws them out in the first place?"

Adah smirked a little wryly at the Ben Franklin-esque lump that manifested in her head at that; ah, the clinging quintessential images of Founding Father lore that sticks in the brain worse than fufu on ribs. "This device is going to be quite a sight when you actually build it," she complimented, despite the fact that she wasn't quite ready to lend herself over to believing it would actually work.

"Do ions have unbalanced numbers of electrons?" Adah asked, grinning a little back. "Of course I do. Even if it fails spectacularly, it should be incredibly informative."

"You really think," Adah said, eying the lump carefully, "that this is going to work?"

Adah's eyes shifted toward the...dog. Then they drifted back toward the lump.

"I've got a rabbit," she reminded him, in case he forgot. It was about time that Pride started earning his keep, anyway.

"I...really can't argue with that, no," Adah admitted after a moment, and it wasn't for lack of trying. She certainly did, for the mere sake of argument. A crooked grin spread again on her face, and she took another moment to glance over the plans, eyes following the curly-cue twists of tubes, the labyrinthine lengths of labwork, and she found her head shaking slightly again. "Quite a bit of work ahead of you, it looks like. If you need any help," she just barely stopped herself from saying a hand, "in construction, you have my offer, but you're likely best advised to not take it. I'm not as good with this sort of thing as I'll be with the actual experimenting and documenting."

Actually, I did a (highly) scientific experiment at work once, and found out that after eight shot of espresso, it really is too much because I got really, really sick. *noddles*
