FTEC -- Saturday, April 26 -- Day shift.

Yawning slightly, Adah had only slight regrets from taking the long way around to the clinic today, considering how loud commotions, somehow louder than last night's events, ever coming from the park and she was feeling pretty wont to stay clear. So she settled behind the desk with another yawn, another cup of tea that made her wonder if it was still unfortunately decaffeinated, and settled to work, confident that whatever the commotion was, it would pass her by and it would be absolutely free of anything to interrupt her.

((Mmm. Irony.))

Once Edgar fit had passed, Emily had managed to convince him to accompany her around the village to try and find their mother ("Fine," he had said, "but I'm not going to like it," arms crossed so tight across his chest that Emily thought they were going to just pop right out of their sockets like she'd done with the arms on the Barbie dolls Aunt Rachel bought her). Typically, their mother would be at work, and that would usually be the hospital, and they usually weren't allowed there, but there was no hospital here, just a clinic, and, sure enough, there she was.

This made the whole portal ordeal less of debacle, if you asked her.

"Oh, good," Emily sighed in relief, practically having to man-handle Edgar in to follow her in. "You're here. I have to say, too, that it wasn't my fault! It was all Edgar's idea!"

"Was not!" Edgar responded back with a scowl, arms crossing even tighter.

Emily sighed. "There was a portal. Edgar thought it was a good idea to jump through it. I'm just glad it's not like that time he thought it was a good idea to try jumping down the Grand Canyon before Uncle A'tole stopped him."

Edgar started chewing on his fingers.

Suddenly, Edgar wasn't the only one biting things, as Emily was now biting her lip a little. "With everythin' that happened, Mama, I wasn't able to grab his gloves, I'm sorry...You're at work, though; bandages?"
