Cameron had managed to sleep through most of the morning, only waking up when Sam came by (http://cameronmitchell.livejournal.com/96708.html). Now he kept drifting in and out of sleep, Ray lay close to the bed, eyes trained for any noises but the dog seemed to be over his wariness.

Having finally heard about Cameron being in the clinic, Zoe headed straight over, hoping just a little that this wasn't her their Cameron, or that he wasn't really hurt.

When she got there, she stayed in the doorway, just watching him sleep. She didn't want to disturb him if he needed rest.

Ray instantly shot up at the visitor, letting out a happy bark before he padded over, tail wagging enthusiastically as he apparently expected to get treats.

Cameron hadn't really been sleeping and even if he had, his eyes opened at the sound. He'd expected it to be Xander or Sam, but he didn't much mind this visitor "Principal Washburn!"

"You're quite a sight for sore eyes," she said fondly, leaning down a little to pet the dog. "I see you've got yourself a guard."

Ray instantly turned his head to receive the pats just where he would like them, tail wagging even more furiously at the attention.

Somehow Cameron doubted that he looked all that good, he knew that he at least had lost weight. The rest... He pushed to sit up. "That's Ray," he said. "We've had him for a while," he said quietly. "It's good to see you, ma'am."

"It's good to see you too," Zoe said, turning her attention from Ray to Cameron. She went over to the bed, taking a good look at him. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," he said instantly, then grimaced at the lie as he wouldn't be in the clinic if he was. "I'm here," he corrected.

"And that's better than being anywhere else, I assume." Zoe sat down carefully on the edge of the bed beside him. "We've missed you here. Sundays haven't been the same without my regular scolding."

Xander had finally headed home for a shower and a couple hours sleep early this morning, but he was back by lunchtime to check in on Cam. Xander came in quietly, though, not wanting to wake him if he was resting.

Whatever reservations Ray had had yesterday were all gone as he instantly went to greet the visitor.

"Hey Xander," Cameron greeted. He was sitting up now and looking more awake than he had the day before.

"Hey, dude," Xander said, crouching down to offer Ray a scratch between the ears. "You look a little more... here, today. Feeling better?"

He wasn't sure if he felt more here, but the fact that he still was was a start. He nodded, watching as Ray pressed against Xander's legs, twisting to get better ear scratches. "Something like that. You called Sam?"

Another visitor and Ray insisted on greeting this one as well, quite possibly hoping for some sort of candy from him.

Well Bridge wouldn't be Bridge if he didn't have some sort of treat like thing on him. Though in Ray's case he'd thought to bring something a little more dog appropriate. He leans down to offer it to the dog.

"Hey," he says quietly, to Cam.

Ray almost breathed in the candy. One moment it was there, the next it was gone and Ray was looking up with big eyes and a wagging tail, begging for more.

"Hey," Cameron replied, his eyes open as he was watching the scene. "Ray is highly suspectable to bribes. You might just have gotten yourself a friend for life."

Bridge's mouth quirks up in a little smile as he produces another treat for Ray. "I'm glad he likes me," he says. "I'm already pretty fond of him for making sure *you* got here, after all."

The second treat vanished as quickly as the other and now Ray was trying to lick Bridge's fingers clean. "So you made him play fetch, huh?" Cameron tried to joke and it was almost working.
