FTEC - Thursday Day Shift 6/28

Early Thursday morning, after a much appreciated spot of tea, Wilson made his way from the Nest back to Minotaur Lane.

Yes, he was wearing the same clothes as the night before but it was not a walk of shame because there was a definite bounce in his step.

Anywho, after shower and changing he headed back down in to town to get the clinic opened up for the day. He might have also laid a bit of Phale bait along the way because he had one more angel to secure for his nefarious plan. Hence why there was a thermos of tea and the angel's usual chair pulled over to the desk waiting for him.

The Angel's Corner

And look, the angel bait worked! Although really, all Wilson truly needed to do was be there himself. That was angel bait enough.

Aziraphale walked into the clinic with a bright smile on his face, pleased at once to see the cheer in the young doctor's expression. He chuckled at the thermos of tea, and poured himself a cup before sitting down in his designated chair.

"Good morning, love. Did you have a pleasant evening?"

"I believe I can take that as a 'yes'," Aziraphale teased in reply. He sipped at his tea, eyes twinkling.

"You're staying home with me tonight, I hope? Or I may have to go and challenge Lucifer, and that would be all kinds of complicated."

"If you're aspiring to be like us, love, then someone's been teaching you the wrong stories."

Aziraphale's eyes were bright with laughter, and he didn't mind the tweaking one bit.

"After all, what do you think caused half the problem at the Beginning, except that some didn't like the idea of sharing things with their little brothers?"

"The car?"

The angel perked up visible, if that was possible, and his eyes brightened into a look of even greater mischief. "Love, you know I'm always pleased to share the car. Will you be joining us, or is this an Angels Only venture?"

Why yes, he was deliberately misunderstanding Wilson's point. Probably.

"A road trip?"

The angel practically bounced in his seat. "James love, I think that's a wonderful idea! We haven't taken a road trip in ages! Have you picked out a place to go yet? Of course you have, that's what you've been working on, isn't it? And you're going to keep it a secret, I'm certain. When do we leave?"

Yes, Aziraphale was in fact ready to go and pack that very minute.

[ooc: I do not have an icon that adequately expresses the bouncy joy of the angel at this moment. *g*]

"It's because I just enjoy traveling with you so much, James."

He grinned broadly, and was already making mental plans for what they should pack. "You let me take care of the packing, and I do promise not to bring along every bit of my wardrobe. We'll be returning on Sunday, I suppose?"

"No, of course not," Aziraphale agreed. "Three days sounds just exactly like the right amount of time. Er...is there anything in particular I should pack? I mean, I know you want to keep things a surprise, but I would hate to leave behind something vital."

Like a tux, or swim trunks, or a winter parka.

With a chuckle, Aziraphale nodded, and obediently relaxed and took a sip of his tea.

"As you wish, love. I promise, no more prying questions. Our trips are always a great deal of fun anyway, when you plan them."

Impulsively, he leaned forward and kissed Wilson's cheek. "What made you decide on an excursion this weekend?"

A brief shadow crossed the angel's face, but he chased it and the painful memories away as he turned his head to brush his lips against the young doctor's fingers.

"I think that's a fine plan, James," he said softly. "And I'll be willing to bet Lucifer doesn't get the opportunity to make too many good memories."

Aziraphale laughed, and then reached up to take Wilson's hand and hold his fingers against the angel's lips for a moment longer.

"Some good ones for you as well, I hope," he teased gently. "We're a strange trio. But I think we're good for each other too."

"Of course he will, love," Aziraphale agreed, with a little snort of laughter at having his nose pinched. "He wouldn't be Lucifer if he didn't. But you and I know better, and he does as well. I can see the look in his eyes, when he thinks no one notices that he's watching you. It pleases him, I think, to have us around. And I'm of the opinion that he deserves to feel pleased now and again."

He ducked around Wilson's hand to steal another kiss. "And so do you."
