It wasn't Sunday, but since there was an open shift Monday nights and Stark had nothing better to occupy his time with, he was in the clinic. There was hope, he thought, for another quiet night. Those really were the best ones.

Would a stab wound be okay for disturbing the television watching?

An insanely freaked out Teddy came in through the clinic doors, carrying an unconscious Chad over his shoulder. "Hello? Anyone? Please?"

A stab wound is probably acceptable, yes.

So much for a quiet night. "I'm right here. What happened?" Stark stood up quickly and walked over to Teddy.

"There was some guy in the woods and..." He trailed off, trying to keep from hyperventilating. "He was stabbed and then passed out."

Stark, hoping Teddy wasn't about to collapse himself, nodded. "Can you bring him into the exam room? I'll take a look. See what there is to do." And try not to think about there being a guy in the woods walking around stabbing people.

Where you may end up if you disrupt the TV watching.

Teddy placed Chad down on the bed as gently as he could right now. Strong emotions made his control over his strength waver.

"Is he going to be okay?"

And there was Chad, still out of it. His breathing was shallow, but it was still there, which was important. He normally slept a lot; didn't seem like he'd wake up any time soon as it was, either.

"I need to take a look," Stark said gently, going to do just that. "But he's alive. And breathing. Always good signs."

A closer look would reveal a stab into the middle of the back off to the right side a little; it'd gone clear through him, and seems to have healed up, just a little, just enough, it would seem. Missed anything crucial ~~of course~~ but just barely.

"I think," Stark said, looking at the wound curiously, "I think he is very lucky. Did this just happen?" he asked. "It looks...older. Healing already, at least some."

"I tried to help him close it, but he-" Teddy ran his fingers through his hair nervously. "And it's been a while, and he passed out. I got him here as quickly as I could."

"You can do that?" Stark asked. "Useful thing to be able to do. It must have helped. He needs to stay here. But he should be fine, given time."

"Long story," Teddy said absentmindedly.

He looked down at Chad, biting his lip as he did. "Is it okay if I stay here with him?"

"You have to let him rest," Stark said as he set about tending to Chad's wound. "But of course you can stay. It's good, having someone there when you wake up. It helps."

Teddy nodded, slumping into a nearby chair. "Thank you."

"Of course." Stark looked over at Teddy. "Are you going to be all right?"

He leaned forward in his seat, resting his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. "I'll be fine when he's awake."

Stark nodded. He understood that feeling.

"If you need anything," he said softly. "Just ask."

[Now, alas, I must sleep!]

"I will," Teddy said wearily. "Thank you."
