Christian was on the phone with a medical supply company, trying to sort out why the latest delivery had consisted of equipment and medicine more suitable for a pediatrician's office than a town clinic.

Christian hung up the phone and glanced up. More kids? "Hello, sweetheart," he said. "You looking for someone?"

She nodded and came around the corner, skipping into the office, "Bandaids!"

"Do you have a boo boo?" Christian asked, opening the drawer. "I have lots of bandaids. How about these ones with pink ponies on them?"

Annette hopped up and down and came closer to edge herself between Dr. Troy and the drawer so she could look in herself. "Pink ponies! Lots of them!"

But no, Annette did not have a boo boo right now. Imagine that.

Christian did a quick check of Annette and didn't see any scrapes or cuts. "Okay, pink ponies it is," he chuckled. "Where do you want them?"

"Ooooh, you want them for later?" Christian said, taking out some of the bandaids and handing them to Annette.

She started shoving them in her pockets. "Yeah. Might get boo boo's later and I will be hurt if I don't have a pink pony bandaid." She looked up at him. "You have lollypops too cause they take away the pain."

"As a matter of fact, I have some right here," Christian said, reaching into a jar on his desk. These mis-shipped medical supplies were coming in handy. He gave Annette a couple lollipops.

Annette wrinkled up her nose and made a face. "Dentists are icky." She took the wrapper off one sucker and stuck it in her mouth, pocketing the other for later.

"Thak ou!" She waved, her pockets now full, and skipped out, forgetting to tell him who she was.
