Christian returned from his impromtu trip to Miami and opened up the clinic, checking up on what he'd missed over the week.

Lana came into the clinic with Tori, after deciding she really should get her hand looked at. She managed a half smile for the doctor. "Hi. I think my hand may need some stitches."

Christian smirked at Lana, remembering their last encounter. "That all you need?" he asked.

She tugged her turtleneck up a little hoping it hadn't slipped down to expose the bruises. "I think so," she said, feeling a bit confused.

And she'd brought a friend this time, this could be really fun. "Well, why don't you come this way (http://community.livejournal.com/fandom_clinic/309736.html?thread=7954920#t7954920) and I'll take a look at your hand, and then we can decide from there."

"I'll be out here, waiting for you Lana." Tori smiled, wanting her to know she wasn't going anywhere.

Lana gave her a small smile. "Thanks, Tori."

"You're welcome." Tori replied, taking a seat.

Lana came back out of the exam room looking white as a ghost. "I've got to get out of here," she said, looking close to tears. "I just want to go back to my room."

Tori frowned, wondering what had happened, noting Lana looked worse than she had when they'd arrived. "Sure, we can head back to the dorms now."

"Thanks," Lana said "I just feel... really sick. Sorry." She couldn't resist a glance over her shoulder to make sure Dr. Troy wasn't there.

Tori shook her head. "No need to apologize, Lana. It's okay." She noticed Lana look behind her and looked in that direction for a moment.

"Come on. I'm sure you'll feel much better, back in your room."

Lana nodded and followed her out. "And Jim will be done with detention soon. Everything will be better when he gets back."

Tori offered her a small smile. "Most definitely."

Exam One

"Hop right up there on the exam table," Christian said to Lana as he put on a pair of latex gloves.

Lana managed to get herself up on the table, leaving a smear of blood where it was seeping through her makeshift bandage, and held out her left hand. "I, um... cut it on a shard from my broken mug," she said, looking uncomfortable and a bit embarrassed.

"Let me take a look," Christian said, unwrapping the bandage. "It doesn't look too deep, a few stitches should take care of it."

Lana couldn't look at it, just the sight brought back memories of the morning's encounter with River. "Okay," she said softly. "Thanks."

Christian cleaned up the wound and neatly stitched it closed, then rebandaged Lana's hand. "There you go," he said. "Don't get your hand wet and keep it clean. I can give you an ointment you can put on it to keep it from getting infected. The stitches can come out in a week or so."

Medical work done, he leaned into Lana's personal space. "Anything else you need?" he said with a leer.

Lana leaned away from him looking startled and a bit frightened. "What are you talking about?" she asked nervously.

"Interested in a repeat performance of your last visit?" Christian said. "You can bring your friend."

"I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't been to the clinic in months," Lana said wondering if she should yell for Tori.

"You were here last week," Christian said. "Right here in this very room." He eyed Lana suspiciously. "Don't tell me you're going to pretend you didn't throw yourself at me. What is it with the girls in this place?"

Lana's face went completely white. "I... oh God. Please tell me I didn't - she didn't... I think I'm going to be sick."

"That's generally not the reaction women have to having sex with me, sweetheart," Christian said. "They usually can't wait for more."

Lana blushed violently, still feeling sick to her stomach. She'd had sex with Doctor Troy? Oh, God,no.

"It's not that," she said carefully. "It's... I wasn't exactly myself this past week. Literally. I'm very sorry for anything I might have done or said when I was here."

"I had a good time," Christian said. "But if you want to pretend it didn't happen. . . ." He shrugged. The women were all nuts around here, weren't they?

Lana opened her mouth to protest, then shut it again. It was probably easier not to try to explain. "Yes," she said finally. "I would. Sorry. I'm sure you were... wonderful."

Please let him just give her the ointment and let her go!

Christian pulled a tube of said ointment out of a drawer and handed it to Lana. All right, he'd play her little game. At least she wasn't stalking him like Kimber had, that was a step up. "Here you go," he said. "Come back in a week to get the stitches out. Sooner if you decide to drop the amnesia act."

"Right, thanks. And, um, sorry," Lana said and hurried out of the room. She'd have to make sure she came back to have them removed at a time when he wasn't working.
